I love how this game manages to create a diverse worlds withing the Mario universe. We are so used to the same old mushroom kingdom, but this game has guts to actually make some world building, original characters etc.

The moment Sparks of Hope got announced, and especially bits of the story were revealed it immediately became a "must-get" title for me. Soliani & Co. really outdid themselves with this one, and its once again another example (funnily enough by the same team) or a "rare occurrence" of an IP such as Mario's being handled by a third party, and so masterfully as well (the first such occurrence being back in 1996 with Super Mario RPG, handled by Square). Actually, just as SMRPG helped push the RPG genre in the West back in the day, one could say that M+R (Sparks of Hope) may end up helping to broaden the strategy RPG genre on more casual players that may have had little to no exposure to said genre.

I love the free camera control we get now. It makes exploring so much better. I also like how overworld enemies will start a battle like in a JRPG, and you can even attack them in the overworld (presumably for a battle advantage). They're also very quick battles. In and out. The story battles are bigger and longer. It's a perfect mix. The graphics are insanely good for a Switch title. On the OLED it's one of the better looking games I've played. Voice acting is good, humor is on point, and you actually control the characters now rather than just lead them with Beep-O. I also love how you can pay to heal before a battle. The gameplay is the star of the show. The free movement system feels notably better than in the last game. Don't get me wrong, I still think there's merit in a grid based style, but I love how you can freely move as much as you want, and aren't locked in until you take an action. The Sparks are smartly integrated gameplay mechanic as well. It's just excellent. I started Persona 5 Royal the other day when I got my early copy and have been utterly glued to my Switch since. I only intended to sample this game before diving back into Persona, but now I don't want to put it down, and am legitimately feeling torn between the two.

My favorite aspects of Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hooe is both the animation and music. Kingdom Battle already looked stunning on switch with some good tunes, but my lord they REALLY hit it out of the park with this game

I didn't get the game but my favorite thing about it quite simply is that it's a strategy game. It also looks better than the first one which is really awesome. The one thing I never liked is that it's ×rabids. I think it would be cool if Nintendo made their own strategy game sans Ubisoft or any of their properties. The game does look sick though.

What is my favorite thing on Mario and Rabbits sparks of hope is that it's rare for a game studio to try and build on an already successful game concept and improves it on every level instead of simply milking it for revenue.

The soundtrack in this game is just marvelous, having Yoko Shimomura back in the Mario RPG games just hits right.

I like it that the game is a turn based game. It makes you think and plan out what you are going to do within your turns. That is pretty much all that I like about Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope.

Haven't started sparks of hope yet, the first one was great. From what I've seen what I like most about the new one is the gameplay. Rayman will be a nice bonus character whenever it releases

Super Mario RPG for the SNES is one of my favorite games of all time so I'm always happy whenever I see Mario and gang get any type of RPG spin off. It gives me hope we'll someday see a turn based Mario RPG in the future that doesn't involve paper 😂

Sparks of Hope is a true sequel - carrying over the right things and making so many others fresh. Case in point - taking amazing music and opening it up more with three amazing composers now?!?! The themes and ways they weave in and out - fantastic!

The fact we're getting more srpg games om the switch. Loved the first Mario/rabbids game and Xcom but sadly after pouring hours into Xcon I hit a glitch that corrupts your file so I had to delete my save file and lose all my progress. 20+ hours down the drain and for a married man with a full time labor job and little gaming time that really sucked badly lol

As excited as I am for this game, I think I'm going to get P5R for now, then pick this game up later once it gets a price drop in a few months. My favorite thing about the game from what I've seen though is it seems like you have more freedom on who you can put in your party, and you're not restricted as much as you were in Kingdom Battle.
