Cheer up, Mario! I wouldn't call it a reject. Maybe it wasn't a perfect time to propose since Peach has been through a lot during captivity and must be more stressful than other times. If Bowser didn't intervene, Peach would've made the polite "reject", to say that she's not ready or other reason. Although, I don't understand why she left you behind.
