The music suddenly stopping at the first level was intentional. The entire stage is a reference to a Mario randomizer Vinesauce Vinny played on stream, which then he proceeded to corrupt it, thus why the blocks have weird line patterns and goombas are fast. In the same stream, Vinny said something about being tired of hearing that music play over and over again, and the corruption coincidentally stopped playing the music seconds after that. (and you also got gnomed)

It's just a reference to an obscure weird commercial with an earthworm that looks horrifying. And the picture on the "Scoot the Burbs" is Scoot from Animal Crossing. Anyways explaining every joke would take too long but that's the main Vinesauce references people remember.
