Would you say your primary use of top spin and slice is to mix it up so as to try and knock the opponent back? Additionally, do you tend to fast shot, or double tap, your shots more often than not?

Hmmm that is a good use of topspin/slice combo but I get the knock back more when I throw a flat in between the two. Players are really good with the counter shots so I don’t count on a knock back from that. With chomp tho he has great angles and power, top spin i can sometimes sneak the ball into a corner for a quick point, slice too. And yeah I usually double tap. Single tap probably could be a place I could improve :)

hey dude, i went to my friend’s house, we tried this game and i fell in love with it. Im about to buy the game right now, but im just scared that the online playerbase is dead. Could you please tell me how long it takes to queue up for a 1v1 in the most popular game mode ( Im willing to wait max 5minutes ) and how long does it take to queue up in doubles ( 10min max for this one )? I also heard that there are discord servers about this game, so ill probably buy it anyway, so yeah please answer asap :D Have a great day !

Hey there! I’m glad to hear you really like the game. All these years later it’s still pretty fun if you ask me! To your question, it really depends on 1) your region, 2) time you play, and 3) your rank, as you get matched with those in the same rank as you. In North America, at the higher ranks (A- and above), you should have no problem getting a game every minute or so if you play during peak times (I usually play 7pm onward and have little issues). Lower ranks I can’t speak much of, but I’m sure there’s enough folks to rank up. I can’t imagine it being 5-10 minutes. And we’re fostering a good community so hopefully more folks pick up the game and enjoy it like yourself! If you get the game I hope to get a chance to play with you and your friend. Friendlies scene is also a good place to be! If you guys have discord I encourage you to join Zelcadia Gaming (link below). Besides being part of a positive and fun gaming community, we have a bunch of high level Mario Tennis players who should be able to help you out. Thanks! The community is still strong so I recommend getting it. The game often goes on sale around holidays or special events so that might be the time. We recently had several Nintendo official tournaments as well. Hoping for more of the same. If you get it don’t hesitate to reach out we’re always looking for folks to play with 🙂

It’s all about timing which varies slightly per character imo. You’ll have to break many rackets before you stop breaking rackets :)

Wait until the tennis ball is close to you then swing. Don’t swing early.
