People say it's a tie but for me mario won by a pixel, looking at 0.25x speed you can see a black pixel from mario touched the flag line before sonic ( might be wrong or maybe it is a tie but I see it mario winning )

If we’re going by who reached the finish line first then Mario wins. Sonic wins if we are saying whoever goes fully over the finish line first

They hit the finish line at the same time. (Or, in this case, Sonic hit the goal at the same time Mario flew over it). But if Luigi failed to grab on to Sonic, or if Tails hit Luigi off of Sonic any second quicker, Sonic would have won, though. If Mario and Luigi were closer to the goal when the mega explosion occurred, Mario would have had a shot at victory. For now, it's a tie. But Mario, Sonic, Luigi, and Tails can consider themselves winners anyway.

The big difference in this version from the original besides the background is the section where Mario uses power ups to go faster than Sonic before Luigi gives him a ride. Sonic dodging the items was also a bit different with more better choreography.

Yep I added the scene where Mario uses the power ups to make things a bit more interesting in the beginning. and it also redid the sonic dodging section because I felt that I hadn't aged very well. I think they turned out pretty good

If you play this frame by frame, on the last frame before Mario gets flung from Sonic's speed when passing the finish line, you can see Mario's nose touching the finish line while Sonic's fist was only a mere pixel away. In other words, Mario won.

The reanimation is such a golden memory to all of us. To answer the question who won, the answer is unfortunately a tie, so Mario and Sonic gets victory, unless a part 2 between them for victory would conclude the debate

I kinda wish you had Mario use a super star during the race. It probably would’ve been something Mario might’ve actually done during the race. I also wished you showed Mario actually using the blue shell, because it only appeared for like 1 second on screen and I almost missed that. But even with those flaws, you still did a good job with this animation remake👍

Mario could've used those power-ups for the win cause SEGA couldn't make a choice, besides giving Sonic more speed. Sonic thinks he is especially lucky to win, the last scene was not very much like a rate. The accuracy of Mario's running was fair. Sonic, whom thinks is the best blue blur in the world, didn't make the deal to win.

I think sonic won because he zipped passed mario very fast and sended him flying through the air before he could cross the finish. If you change the speed of the video very low, you could fastforward to the part when mario and sonic cross the finish line and then figure out who won.

Anyone who KNOWS Sonic knows he crossed that finish line the moment the race began and was messing with Mario from the start so rather Mario crossed that line before Sonic in the final moments it wouldn't have mattered because Sonic already BEEN crossed it
