oh lord, this one. While this episode was fun when it first dropped, nowadays its considered pretty bad aside from the animation. The main reason is because of the fact that they scaled Sonic off of a non canon feat, they placed Mario's peak at that coliseum exploding, and basically said Mario destroys in every category minus speed, and even then they kinda just placed Mario at Sonic's speed regardless. the animation itself was fun.. but really it didn't do the best job characterizing both.. characters. Mario murders Sonic over a chair, and Sonic was planning on murdering a dude over said chair. when you're comparing it to the first one, it kinda just feels like they're apologizing for using noncanon stuff the first round they went. Again, don't be fooled by my profile, I can see arguments for Mario winning. Really, this is what Goku vs Superman 2 felt like for us Sonic fans. @ I wouldn't personally say "stomps" but I am on the side that personally believes Sonic wins. Genuine arguments can be made for both sides, and I do agree that Mario just kinda ability-shits all over Sonic, as items are Mario's entire thing. However he has nothing, and I mean absolutely nothing to counter Super Sonic. The White Tanooki is only given after five whole deaths, and the starman has a canonical time limit whereas Super Sonic "doesn't".

@@mev1221 Oh, then yeah I fully agree. Even then without Super Sonic, Sonic's got answers to a lot but unfortunately not all of Marios powerups.

@@Blue_Punch_Buggy224 On the topic of invincibility forms, if Mario went super at the same time as Sonic then he would be done for because from most Mario games I've played it lasts for 10 seconds or less while at Minimum Super Sonic is 50 seconds with no additional rings. The only way Mario could get past this is to find a way to hold out for as long as he can without going super and then transform during Sonic's last 10 seconds or after

Dang, silly thumbnail Slim. You got to admire the amount of research Death Battle put into there videos, there so interesting not even a true Sonic or Mario fan would know. To be fair. In this Death Battle, they did both characters dirty and it’s likely the Smash Bros games aren’t canon to the Super Mario or Sonic the Hedgehog universes. Plus this is their 2nd Mario v Sonic battle. The first one was back in 2011 and in that death battle. Sonic won. However they one they also used Archie Sonic’s feats for Canon Sonic, so it was a little unfair, but nowhere near as bias as this one and this is coming from a Mario fan.
