It amazes me how this speedrun from 15 years ago is only around 10ish seconds slower than the actual runs today.

10 secs is actually a lot of time in a speedrun

@@samsloper8685 well, for a speedrun to only improve by 10ish seconds after 15 years really isn’t that much. Compare it to Mario 64 0 star speedruns, minutes have been shaved off that record since it was first discovered. Edit: Ok so, based on my recent Mario bros to Mario 64 0 star speedrun comparisons, I can see that I started a bit of a war. Let me just say I completely understand how adding another dimension to the game will drastically affect the outcome of the speedrun, however be fair to me, I couldn’t really think of any other viable comparisons. Mario 64 0 star and Mario bros aren’t that far apart when it comes to speedrun times. Second edit: Let me just say that I’ve been corrected enough times to understand that Super Mario 64, is NOT a good comparison to compare Mario bros with, I’m sorry if my stupid statement upset anyone, I honestly thought that the similarity in times between the two runs would suffice in my comparison. Third edit: also in terms of Mario bros speedruns, 10 seconds is A LOT of time to be saved I may have said it wasn’t and it’s an honest mistake of mine. Fourth edit: let me just say I should’ve compared Mario bros to Mario Bros 3 or possibly even Super Mario World. So many edits… and I hope this is the last one. I was wrong and I made a mistake. This is kinda embarrassing :/
