I've been seeing a lot of TASes of the Mario Party series that are made in Japan. Wonder if there's some kind of trend there they like to follow. Trend or not, I'm not complaining about that at all.

Want to know if it can count to 100, or if 99 is the max, would the Fake Toad say we need 100 or a messed up number like 9/ or 00 or something else? xD Still was entertaining especially when you trolled with the AI. lmao

+StupidMarioBros1Fan 99 is the max. If you have 99 lifes and you got enough coins for and life again it counts down the coins but still shows the 99 only.

As have I, but this run is in the interest of speed. Jumping for midair coins or going for bonuses (e.g. Archer-Rival, Bowl-Over) slows you down. What I'm interested in is the optimized input for World 7 button mashers, especially Abandon Ship. That game feels like a crapshoot.

***** In-game text. For example, the names "MARIO" & "DONKEY", and "NEW RECORD". Almost all of the text in the game is in English in the Japanese release of the game. I've noticed this in a lot of Japanese versions of retro video games, and I can't really understand why they do this. Yet, on occasions in small spots, some of the text is Japanese. At 12:00, there is some that pops up next to Luigi, and at 12:15, the Toad has a text box in Japanese. Despite that, even all of the voice clips are in English.

John Gonzalés There can be various reasons, for starters English is usually a required language students have to learn in Japan, so it's not unnatural for them to see english words or sometimes use them in their day to day lives, some English words are also shared in the Japanese language. It can also add a bit of flare or diversity in the game to use words in a different language rather than the naturally spoken one, it's the same reason why a western game studio may name itself after a japanese word or something. Also, because English is the most used and spoken language in the world (and because Japanese are alread fairly familiar with it) it's not surprising that they would try to simply make some assets in English by default rather than doing them in various languages as this will save the developers time and effort, such as the character voices for the most part, the Japanese will understand it and it'll have already been done for the international release. They don't do this too much these days because the accents can be noticable and they usually have a bigger budget to get specific voice actors for certain languages if they need to.
