Fun fact Beethoven met Mozart a few years before his death. Beethoven was 17 years old. He went to Mozart to see if Mozart could help him become better at playing the piano. Picking these two comes down to personal taste. LV clearly wrote deeper, darker piano pieces and symphonies, but had the benefit of shifting tastes in musical styles and creating the music he wanted to, not beholden to royalty or patrons. What sets WAM apart is that he was both a virtuoso pianist and violist. He wrote pieces for every genre, and 3 of his operas are still in the top 10 being performed today.
