Notwithstanding the tragedy (Roger) that surrounds it, the scene with Lord Asriel and Mrs. Coulter on the top of the mountain is one of the most romantic scenes in all of moviedom. The passion of their affair 10 to 15 years earlier remains unquenched. I cannot imagine anyone else for Asriel but Marissa and cannot imagine anyone for Marissa other than Asriel. Both, while far from perfect, are exceptional. Together they could, as Asriel says, "take this world apart and put it back together again."

They both have teared away the souls from children. Mrs Coulter can control whatever are Spectres or Spectre of Indifferences which eat soul e.g dust and she even taught Spectres to fly.

I’m gonna be honest. At the start, I was like “there’s no way that Asriel and Marissa would have chemistry” and then the mountain scene came and changed my mind completely.

Eu realmente queria que os três tivessem pelo menos alguns minutos juntos para que algo fosse dito. Qualquer coisa. Desde um "desculpa" até um "Eu te amo". Acho horrível o fato de que a Lyra nunca saberá que os país amavam sim ela, de um jeito disfuncional, mas amavam e mostraram isso no fim.

Yes the movie made him blonde and blue eyed but that was canon at the time. Pullman made a huge appearance change in La Belle Sauvage where the dark hair and dark eyes description of Asriel first appears. The change being he switched Marisa who is described in all 3 His Dark Materials books as as dark haired woman with dark eyes to a blonde. He did that because he really liked Nicole Kidman's blonde Marisa. So in La Belle Savage we have blonde Marisa, blonde Lyra and dark Asriel. Thus blonde Lyra must have taken it from Marisa. But in His Dark Materials, Marisa is stated as dark and Lyra is stated to resemble her father (which is actually the only way the story works because if Lyra wasn't a blonde with blue eyes unlike her mother then how would Edward Coulter know the kid isn't his) and Asriel hair or eye color are not stated, only him being tall and powerfully built is stated. And thus everyone believed Asriel to be a blonde guy with blue eyes. If you check some older His Dark Materials art you will see everyone painted him blonde - it was kind of canon and I guess still is for people who only read the original trilogy.

Me ha gustado lo distinto que es tu perspectiva a la mia, obvio yo fui realista, tu te centraste en la OTP haciendo manips y sin contar realmente como acaban o tal.. Tu tienes esperanza, yo no jajajajajaj pero no importa, me gusta eso, lo distinto que pueden ser los fanvids aunque uses las mismas escenas, o como cambia usar una canción u otra o una voiceover a otra y el orden que le des y esa magia es lo que me hace amar videar y este video ❤

Esta claro que el hecho de usar una canción u otra, o unas voces u otras, cambia mucho el resultado, pero no por eso es menos realista, dado que el material es el mismo. Me encanta cómo de diferentes videamos porque siempre tengo algo nuevo que aprender de ti❤️

They deserve each other and I don’t mean it in a good way. Both are monsters. Asriel will literally stop at nothing in the name of science and exploration and Marissa is so obsessed with her daughter it’s unhealthy. Both have killed innocents to achieve their goals. Honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if they end up killing each other. Good riddance.
