Lower East Side NYC* She became a regular on my nights, mainly because she loves old school salsa music, and that was pretty much my forte back then. "A Different World" is one of the most underrated shows. However, season 1 (which had Marisa Tomei) was awful, the show took off once Lisa Bonet and Marisa left the show while Dwayne and Whitley became the central characters. and it was never really explained why Marisa's character was going to an HBCU anyway. though you can tell part of her characters traits were given to Freddie Brooks
