1 - your brain does what it thinks you want it to do, what it thinks is in your best interest and what you told it years and years ago and it’s up to you to change it 2 - it responds to 2 things - the pictures you make in your head, and the words you say to yourself 3 - you’ve got to make unfamiliar familiar and familiar unfamiliar

The tricky part is you need to say it out loud standing in front of the store register, all naked (clothes restrain your natural magnetic field, so the law of attraction does not work). Only then will the miracles happen.

I have to make cold calls and have a difficult time wanting to do it. I have watched Marisa’s videos but this one spurred me write the following and hang it where I was making the calls: I choose to do this. I want to do this. I’m excited to do this. It’s fun. I repeated that mantra mentally while I was making my calls. What a difference! I actually enjoyed it and had many more good conversation.

Well done Marisa. You've watered this down to its most basic (which Einstein would say is a sign of mastery and that, if you can't, you haven't grasped it and are BS'ing still) and shown people that they're fully responsible for their attitudes, for what happens next (no matter what happened or was done to them) and that people need to self-review regularly to catch themselves self-sabotaging and instead inject some hope, some enthusiasm and crack on for another day. It's great advice and you are 100% correct that this sort of mental toolbox should be part of the school curriculum. It's the very essence of what the education system is about. Enabling people to grow.

My take in a nutshell 1) Your brain is conditioned by the what you say, and the images you imagine. -next time you want to do something, use this fact to effect change. -i.e. ever tried learning something that's really hard? track what you say, and what you imagine as you go about the task... Marisa also includes a feel element, so track that too... then use corrective dialog, imagination, and feeling to reprogram. use consistency to make familiar the new, and actively work to diminished negative response. I've read comment that suggest there's no value in taking the time to listen to this talk, but you really should listen. It's good value

I really love Yours videos and the knowledge you give away for free to all who want to learn. And by the way that is exactly how I quit smoking- I reached the point that I though to myself “I want to stop smoking in this minute “ and I did. I didn’t say I must or I should I just wanted to do it. I had my cigarettes always on my, I just choose to not to smoke. I was going through over one pack of them a day mostly after work, for 15 years. Since 15 years I’m not smoking. Good luck to everyone who wants to quit :)

Marisa can you guarantee that if a person tells their mind a greater lie that it won’t impact them negatively. Also, would you recommend that they lie to their minds to destroy shame or guilt or rejection? Can a lie heal trauma or rebuild trust? How great does the lie need to be in order to destroy fear? And if it destroys fear does it have the capacity to destroy the person? How does the lie know not to impact other areas of the persons belief system? Please read 2 Timothy 1:7 Marisa May the Blessing of Christ rest upon you and the truth of His word restore your precious soul!
@MarisaPeer
@MarisaPeer 3 жыл бұрын
Hi, Marisa calls it a lie because it might be a statement that doesn't make sense to the logical mind, ie "Flying is fun". To someone who is scared of flying, that sounds like a lie, but we know that it's subjective of course. The "lies" Marisa is encouraging are actually different perspectives, reframing what your brain currently perceives as a truth - a truth that might not be helpful if it's a negative opinion of yourself for instance. Hopefully that helps to clarify the context, very best wishes, Marisa Peer Team x

6 years ago, I had a brain injury. I had to relearn the entire language of English, which is called aphasia. This was quite hard for me, because I have always been a working writer. This is a deep part of me, something I wouldn’t life without. I was around a lot of people who also had brain injuries in my first year, and these people were completely negative in almost every way. Being around these people showed me I didn’t want to be like them. These people thought that there was no future, that they couldn’t get better. I have been working and working on relearning the entire language of English, and now I am working as a writer again. I write resumes! I have this part of my life back. It is the hardest thing I have ever done, but I believed in myself. The kind of thinking that Marisa is talking about isn’t magic. It is a reality if you want it to be your reality. I hope that this post helps.

I really enjoy listening to Marisa. I had such a negative mind. I thought I didn’t because I always showed my good mood and a smile to people, but within myself, I was just terrible. I never listened to myself, and I cared about people who didn’t picture me in their lives. Now, I say those nice words to myself. I need to rewire my brain. I will work it out :)

27:00 self praise. make praise familiar. make self praise very familiar. what is the one thing you would have loved to have heard? you know what you need to hear. close your eyes, think of what you most wanted to hear now, or 30 years ago and say it to yourself. I am a good person. I am smart, I matter. I am successful. I am significant. tell your brain what you want. make great stuff familiar and negative stuff unfamiliar.

What surprises me is that these two things, about words and pictures triggering and influencing our moods, decisions, our whole life are rarely given the attention they deserve. The bad practice is recognized, but not too many people have heard it explained as Marisa does in this video. I appreciate the broad-scope explanation of something that could be told in 2 minutes. I can appreciate the significance of these ideas and how they can be a game-changer for so many people.

Oh my God! 13:24. I'm typically very skeptical but I decided not to be, keep an open mind. So I did, and when I pointed my arm back a second time, it actually went a third further! I laughed and cried at the same time. This woman is like a goddess. I'm so glad youtube exists! These videos are changing and improving my life daily!

I actually find myself tuning out what people are saying at times, so basically, i cant hear them, and i think its the same for a lot of people. I have to constantly rewind back and listen several times to one point before it sinks in. I am always reading books so i have used up a lot of mental energy on that so far. If i knew a way to focus more i would try it. I also paint and draw as my main hobby and this is something that requires a lot of attention, but i find it less strenuous than reading or listening to people. We're all our own islands.

Very helpful. Wrote down the instructions. It is true...immediately changes your brain chemistry etc. I have PTSD from the military jobs I did in Vietnam...am treated by meds from V.A. and was hospitalized in late 1990's for it. Did not realize how negative my self talk was...and worrying about control, etc. Watch the video all the way through...do the physical demonstrations she asks the audience to do....the leaning test made me laugh positively because my body almost fell backwards....Thank you Doctor Peer.
