Lovely video. I lived in La Jolla for two years as a kid and get back every couple of years. If I could afford it, I’d move back to SD in a heartbeat!

Welcome back to SoCal. SD is bittersweet to me. An ex lived in Ocean Beach (where SeaWord is) before moving to Ohio.

No disrespect intended here with this question, but I am curious...years ago there seemed to be issues with the raw sewage from Tijuana that got dumped into the ocean ending up on the SD beaches. Is there any truth to this? Is it still a problem?

I didn't see any raw sewage on the beaches in San Diego but it looks like it's still a problem for the beaches to the south. Apparently the raw sewage comes across the Mexican border via the Tijuana River which flows into the Pacific Ocean near Imperial Beach, CA. From that point it presumably makes its way along the coast to other beaches. According to a news article I found online, a storm this January "sent more than 14.5 billion gallons of untreated raw sewage into California from Mexico, levels officials say have never been seen before." This type of thing has been going on for decades but it's especially bad this year because of the active weather. It's killing wildlife and fostering the growth of harmful antibiotic-resistant bacteria. Seems like an environmental and public health disaster to me.
