Never enough ideas for trellis'.

I also make trellises from anything handy. I never throw away a dead branch if it’s straight enough. I make a tipi for my pole beans and grow shade-loving plants underneath. If anything breaks, I just lash it back together with the Boy Scout knots I learned. By the way, it took me FOUR tries to germinate pole beans this year, and they’re way behind, but they may come in just as my bush beans finish. I also grow runner beans but I don’t eat them green, I wait until they form new seeds and I dry them for winter soups. Hummingbirds like the flowers.

You prolly dont give a shit but if you guys are bored like me during the covid times then you can watch pretty much all the new movies and series on Instaflixxer. Have been binge watching with my girlfriend for the last few months :)

@Leo Antonio Yea, I've been using Instaflixxer for years myself :)

Morning Greg, from New Zealand, where it is approaching spring. Love your videos, and although we're in opposite hemispheres, they are really useful because they help me prepare for the upcoming season & I'm not playing catch-up. And while we don't have your extreme cold, being surrounded by oceans, basically the whole country is considered to have a maritime climate. Anyway, today I'm going to be starting my tomato seeds, and for my determinates I plan on using the Florida weave that you've demonstrated.

Great, thank you Maritime Gardening. Love the string demo! I recycled a length of fencing wire, which the Tayberries love to climb (with a little training for annual new shoots, in this cold climate); so no need to take that trellis down for the foreseeable future ;-)

Hi I live in Halifax, where can I buy the wire reMesh you mentioned ? Thanks

I got mine at Kent. My guess is that any place like that has them as long as they sell masonry supplies.
@annestudley82355 жыл бұрын
Thanks for showing that, Greg. How would you support free standing peonies?
@maritimegardening48875 жыл бұрын
I've never grown them - but I'd have to think multiple stakes driven in the ground with some twine would do the job if properly arranged.
@annestudley82355 жыл бұрын
OK, that makes sense - thanks a lot. The tomato cages and bamboo "stakes" are too flimsy, I've found. I'll do real stakes and twine next year.

Those peonies are pretty top heavy - it does pose a challenge I would imagine
