marivere dikkevarayya rama'...in Shanmukhapriya, called as Chamaram in Muthuswami Dikshitar school of Carnatic music, a class kriti that is sung by high-profile vocalists in the cutcheri circuit. Of course Shanmugapriya ragam was borrowed into Hindustani music from Carnatic music. It is the 2nd ragam in the 10th chakra Disi.. thus the mnemonic name is Disi-Sri. The mnemonic phrase is sa ri gi mi pa dha ni. it is a sampoorna rāgam with all seven notes in both ascending and descending scales and is the prati madhyamam equivalent of Natabhairavi, which is the 20th melakarta scale. Excellent exhaustive Ragaalapaa..wonderful exposition of the ragam..Shanmugapriya! The vocalist displayed skills at high octave incorporating wonderful gamakas on maneuvering variations to ornament presentation right from Anupallavi with modulation of brigas at work proliferated sweet eloquence of Shanmugapriya/Chaamaram!!! She presented an excellent niraval @ sannutaanga shree venkatesha neevu' and kalpanaswarom! Good recital with the ferver it entailed..!!! wonderful extempore swarakalpana with the phrases of the ragam. and with a host of combianations with he raga sworas ....well weaved swaroms ended with the thala cycle with the support from the active percussion team ..First Class recital ..best wishes

Marivere dikkevaraiya Adi talam Patnam Subramania Iyer Krithi This song is sung in Lathangi and Shanmukhapriya Ragam and I understand the Krithi has been composed in Shanmukhapriya ragam which I can be corrected In this Kruti, Subrmania Iyer prays to Lord Venkateswara humbly stating that he has none else to beg for help. Pallavi marivere dikkevarayya raama maaTi maaTikini thelupavalaena Oh Rama! Who else is there for me to seek protection ? Should I request again and again? Anupallavi daridaapu laeni naa jaali therchi dayachaesi brochae dora naevu kaada (mari) I have no hope in the near vicinity. Please assuage my grief. Are n't you the lord that protects me? Charanam ninnu chaala nammi unnavaadanuchu nee chiththamunakae thelisi unDagaa sannuthaanGa Sree venkaTeSa neevu nannu broavakayundutha nyayamaa (mari) You know fully well that I have absolute faith in you. Oh Lord Venkatesa, I chant your praise, is it fair for you to ignore me. Gist :- besides you, who will save me, Rama, how many times need I tell you ?
