Great presentation. One super important thing to add regarding the conversation about keeping microbes fed- the most ideal and productive food source for microbes is the exudates coming from living roots, rather than crop residue or surface litter. In fact, that residue accounts for very little organic matter production comparatively with what is produced by microbes and root exudates.
