Idk, I feel like that might be a product of us being majorly online. When I talk to normal people about this stuff I usually have to break it down a lot to bring it to layman levels. Hell, I follow a lot of people who fell for that Scottish titles thing, or betterhelp, but 1. For the most part, when they realized that it wasn't what they thought it was, they took accountability and apologized for it, and 2. When you're someone like Haley Welsh, it's hard for me to believe that she's completely in the dark about this. We've seen time and time again influencers promote this crypto stuff and get exposed for it being a scam. Maybe it's pretty online, but so is she, she's been in these spaces for a bit now. Maybe I'm being too harsh, but considering that even after getting called out, she hasn't bothered to take any accountability or acknowledge the scummy nature of this endeavor, that charitibility I try to have is gone.

It’s because people sell it as something it’s not. It’s not a “hedge against inflation” and it’s not even “currency” it’s a stock that you buy with real money in hopes that your will sell it later for more real money than you paid in, and selling to someone who’s using real money and for the same reason. Since it has nothing behind it (and remember fiat DOES have the GDP to back it) rich people have bought most of it, will use it to trade for real value, and then do a dump, leaving the People with worthless bitcoin while the rich hold the fiat AND the valued goods. It’s a scam on a huge level.

The 99% can be made up of different things. 40% can be scams 20% can be gambling 15% can be builders trying to build something but they aren’t good, their product isn’t good, etc etc. 10% can be pure speculation. only case i see crypto being a good thing for is for utility coins. the best one I can think of is helium(granted it has its only shady side). your providing an access point to their services and they are paying you in coin. if the business does well your coins go up in value. the way I look at it is a decentralized cell provider. But I think because of all the ugly corruption going on, it's blinding you guys to the good stuff about crypto. Like the decentralized ecosystem and peer to peer network that basically is super democratic. You don't have a federal reserve calling the shots on when to print more Bitcoin, and in fact you never can print more Bitcoin which is why it will always maintain value because of its scarcity. A lot of cryptos you DO have centralized entities controlling the majority of tokens, printing more etc, and those ARE scams, and they should be called out and regulated against. 99% is scam, sure but you can't throw the baby out with the bath water is all I'm saying. Bitcoin itself is here to stay and is honestly a great long-term investment no matter who does or doesn't regulate it, and crypto is becoming more a part of your life whether you like it or not and the democratic intrinsic nature of a lot of block chains is actually a really great thing. And in a lot of cities, you can buy things with crypto lol it IS in coffee shops n stuff places but the availability to buy a coffee with it should not be the only lense to look at this with.
