Good on the Mavs for getting the best player and another member of the top 5 _(Brunson),_ but honestly, the Hawks had the 2nd best draft after Dallas.

Give Trae a healthy AD in the post and the balance of power in the East shifts (2nd seed for sure with a chance at the 1). Having said that, these things happen to Atlanta. Remember, some years back, Atlanta took Marvin Williams out of NC over CP3 at a time when Atlanta was desperate for a point guard.

The HAWKS getting an extra 1st Round Pick from the MAVS the following year to just move down two spots to the 5th Pick and drafting Trae Young wasn't a Bad Trade. Unfortunately, the HAWKS Missed badly by using that MAVS's 1st Rounder on Cam Reddish.
@amplesstratleholm76096 ай бұрын
True, in theory it wouldn't be as bad as it looks now, provided that Trae was able to give you 80-90% of what Luka was projected to be (I thought Trae would be at least 80% of what Steph was), and if the Hawks were able to hit on the draft pick. The Hawks missed on both, because not only did the gap between Trae and Luka ended up being bigger (Trae is unwilling to play off-ball, while an engaged Luka is borderline decent on defense), but they also missed on that extra pick.
@bedandbreakfast40332 ай бұрын

I wanted that to happen at the time. Building around Tatum and Luka for years with them taking pressure off of each other and that's a pretty scary pair for the rest of the league to deal with.
