For heaven's sake this sounds gorgeous! One might call this a "baritone-grand-piano". So dark, somber and yet very transparent and clear... I've never heard such a sound from a grand-piano. Well, I suppose it's also thanks to you who is letting it sing and hum and whisper and roar like that ... Thank you! A. von Uri, Switzerland

I am really glad to see these again. I know of no other living pianist better with Grieg's Lyric Pieces than you, Mark. 0:00 Shepherd Boy ("Gjetergutt" - literally "Goats Boy") 5:00 Norwegian Walking Dance ("Gangar") 9:20 March of the Trolls 13:05 Notturno (Cool, dreamy, magical) 17:53 Scherzo 22:10 Bell Ringing (Inspired by many church bells heard on a beautiful Sunday morning from mountain road high above Bergen, Norway.) All from 1891.

Du très beau Grieg qui ne craint la comparaison ni avec Richter ni avec Pletnev. Bravo!

I like this as much as do the Merzhanov and Knardahl versions (which are strikingly similar--i believe they were contemporaries), though very different from theirs. Thank you.

was soll ich sagen lieber M.F.. Kongenial ist das richtige Wort für die Verschmelzung dreier Charaktere: Edvard Grieg, Mark Farago und der "Förster"

People always play this piece waaaaaaay to fast. I like this slower version best.
