That bass line is from "You're My Hero," another Guiliana Beat Music song written by Mark and Tim Levebfre, I believe. Wicked cool bass line.

They've been playing with Donny McCaslin recently, there are some good videos of them playing together. I saw them once with Tim Lefebvre on bass and no Steve Wall. I still don't think there are any studio recordings of this group, but Mark Guiliana played on Janek Gwizdala's album "It Only Happens Once", which shares similar influences. You can get that album for free from Janek's Bandcamp.

Id really like to know what are the pedals the bassist is using to make this fantastic sound at 3:32 and on. I know theres a octaver without the dry sound, but then what? what synthesizer? maybe a fuzz? someone please help?
@2fat2die10 жыл бұрын
Its just a octaver i think. The sound you appear to be hearing is coming from the synth-guy

LentilsOverkill maybe boss OC2
@LentilsOverkill9 жыл бұрын
+Sotiris Zampelis That would make sense, considering he's playing up at the 12 fret, and you usually have to do that with octavers for good tracking... looks like i have something new for my wishlist
@sotiriszampelis89099 жыл бұрын
+LentilsOverkill you better start looking early because you can only get a used one. Everyonce in a while a cheap one appears but most of the time people over charge it. It is the only pedal i take with me on jam sessions.
@sotiriszampelis89099 жыл бұрын
+LentilsOverkill i can send you a couple of tracks of mine to see how it sounds on a lower budget
@LentilsOverkill9 жыл бұрын
+Sotiris Zampelis I see used ones for like 60 and 70 bucks...not too bad. I'm also getting into pedal building and designing...so I could save some money and build one my self and get some learning out of the whole deal. It's a pretty popular octave circuit from what I've heard.
@venom077869 жыл бұрын
That spirit animal remark was about as ignorant as one could get. However, hearing that blended, skewed, and turned into that soundscape .. well.. it was tasteful as hell. Good job guys.
@jcdenton44364 жыл бұрын
Yeah, so ignorant. That's not how real spirit animals work at all.
Does anyone know which x-hat he is using? Is it just a custom stack or is it a specific hi-hat? :-)
@robmadore110 жыл бұрын
I think it's a radia nano hat designed by Terry Bozzio, made by Sabian. They come in 7" and 9" I believe. I've got a 16" Radia crash, Really cool sounding cymbals.

Look, man, I am not defending skrillex as I am not particularly fond of him since he used false advertisement to push his music and because his sound is incredibly obnoxious. BUT to say that a computer cant be looked at as an instrument is beyond ridiculous. Next thing you will tell me that electronic music is not actually music. I am glad you enjoy your music as much as you do and take pride in it, but taking pride in something does not mean you have to spout ignorant stuff like this.
@thedelorean853710 жыл бұрын
this is awesome!..incredible playing. not as technical but check us out 'Nasty' by The DeLorean
@Sunkea11 жыл бұрын
You can say you prefer Skrillex, but what a shame to say he's better... in my opinion you dont even know what you're talking about
@MrColaiutaz11 жыл бұрын
Skrillex is better? °_0 it's easy doing that kind of music with a computer, just click with your magical mouse and that's all ! You don't even need to be a musician or have any skills, just need a good software and a good souncard and off you go. These guys are ass kicking musicians (especially Mark), Skrillex should have kept on doing emo core (even if it's barby doll metal), but i guess clicking was just much easier than singing...
