Billy Dee Williams’s take on not thinking of himself as being a “black actor” because he doesn’t want to limit himself is so refreshing and something we need to bring back to Hollywood

WoW our own TV Host Don Lane an american that had for long time on Australian entertainment, variety show on channel Nine (9) . Was if recall correctly the "Don Lane Show"midday time I think ? He was nominated and won a few awards in Australian TV WEEK AWARDS. Hope explains but do remember at this time in August 1980 the Star Wars follow-up being THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK was a huge hit! Cinemas were alway's packed even with some patrons sitting on steps to see and bookings for tickets were weeks to a month in advance. Very long, long lines promise as i was 12 for EMPIRE and what my siblings and I put poor Mum through to be there and see it left us all in awe and spellbound. It was amazing then in 1980, very exciting, interesting, intriguing absolutely entertaining and yeah we all got the toys, action figures, spaceships, novels, movie soundtracks. Good Times fondly and at school we talked about the film and played the characters.

Was very KOOL we received both Billy Dee Williams & Mark Hamill to promote and tour the movie in many states of Australia way back then because we are far way down under and was a treat to have International guests come see and visit for sure.

I really enjoyed the interview. Mark Hamill is such a great guy. It was funny how he reacts when the interviewer incorrectly states that a black actor is inside Darth Vader's suit. Hamill knows that he has to correct the guy because otherwise millions of Australians will be confused when they see ESB and the big plot twist. Maybe he worried that, if he didn't correct the error, Lucas or 20th Century Fox would blame him.
