If only someone could have told young Mrak, staring up at that unattainable PRS on the wall, "Don't worry, you'll be a signature artist with them someday."

@Mark Holcomb Are your strings super close ,I remember you saying something about it, that the strings make a sound against the frets ,that it was typical for you to have that sound, you were playing Misha's guitar

What a kind guy! Is pretty cool because he can create those big metal riffs and thats headbangers jazzy chords progressions. I wonder how is using his phone for play the backing track: any special app or something to know about the setup?

There are aux in slots on some amps to playback media. It´s going into the guitar amp i think.

He seems like such a pleasant guy. I really want to enjoy Periphery more, but something about their sound just feels bloated to me. Still, very insightful video, much appreciated.

Kinsman it's definitely a band that you have to grow to love. Start off with periphery II and the juggernaut albums. They are the best to listen to for new fans in my opinion
@LarryDaGamerGuy7 жыл бұрын
It's not for everybody, but that goes for every genre. I got started on there Periphery III album. That album got me into the band. It just takes time to get into certain things. But it's true, without enjoying Periphery's stuff, you can still appreciate the musicianship from Mark.

Why does his tone suck in this video :( wasn't using the AxeFx or an Archon or something? When he played the beginning of the News on a rhythm patch on the bridge with the volume turned down... why Mrak, why...

@jeffneiman46357 жыл бұрын
He was using a mic'd amp. To get similar tones as the AxeFX the mic has to be placed perfectly and most likely you need multiple and some insanely high quality that just wouldn't have been practical for this specific instance. Most likely this was the case because Mark is sponsored by PRS and he (right fully so) loves their stuff and needs to showcase it whenever he can. This is an instance where things could have been way better but weren't and the choice to go with sponsored gear was a liming factor in the recorded audio. I bet it sounded killer live!

There is so much wrong here I do not know where to start. Give yourself a few decades of playing hours a day and I promise you this performance will be, not only completely unimpressive but sloppy as well. A good guitarist and songwriter he may be but a great performance and killer sound quality this is not.

Mark Holcomb should keep DiMarzio out of his mouth he's not worthy of saying that name especially when his pickups are trash there's no dynamic range between the neck and the bridge whatsoever
