Never understood why they never played this live. It's to me pop punk perfection. Online Songs is what really got me into TOYPAJ.

I remember they played it live back in 2001 for the TOYPAJ summer tour

this is the weirdest absolute thing ever. because besides the vocal track on the album, this is the absolute only time i've ever heard Mark sing this song. probably by some margin Blink's least-requested, least-good song since around the _Cheshire Cat_ days. i just never got it - i still don't. but i appreciate how rare it is to hear him sing this. i doubt they even _once_ did it live, though i could totally be wrong there. _Take Off Your Pants and Jacket_ was just a weak album. compared to _Enema of the State_ it was maybe 50-60% as good. the songs _just weren't there_ compared to their other stuff. and then compared to the later _blink-182,_ it was a hopelessly derivative, seemingly low-effort release. y'know what my favorite song on that record is (and it's ALSO one of Blink's least-popular)? _Everytime I Look for You._ i _think_ that song best encapsulates what i _think_ they might have been going for on that album: a way darker, more grown-up version of themselves. almost alternative rock music. which would've been _kickass,_ only then it had songs like _I Wanna Fuck a Dog in the Ass, Happy Holidays, You Bastard_ and, well, _Online Songs._ it just didn't succeed at what it was i think trying to do. _Please Take Me Home_ and _Story of a Lonely Guy_ are pretty good too.

This is so interesting to hear, because Online Songs is the quintessential blink song to me. It's everything I love about the band
