I remember back in the day Mark was down some rabbit hole of a comment section on one of his Facebook posts beefing with some keyboard warrior. Mark was so off the kid calling him out and dropped his number to meet up. Mark would've thought it was just him and the dude going back and forth but my mate was watching the whole thing. My mate is just about the biggest MMA fanatic there is. We are both big fans especially of all our Aussie and Australasia boys, but my mate Ash can just about tell you every guy on the roster, watches every card from early prelim to main (don't think hes missed one in 3 years), can tell you the last 3 fights of every fighter, and method of victory or defeat. Well he was watching this thread when Mark dropped his number haha. We both called him and to our surprise, Mark Hunt actually answered! Something along the lines of, is this Mark Hunt? "Yeah who the fuck is this", or words to that affect haha. We were just kids at the time, but massive Mark Hunt fans. We would call or text him before every fight (this was around the Lesnar time) and he'd be pissed haha. But honestly we were just two kids, massive fans, and couldn't believe we had Super Samoans number. So Mark, Tyson or Tai, if you're reading this, that was us. I'm 21 now and been boxing about 2 years, I'm a fellow Aboriginal Fatlete as Tai calls it haha.

Mark Hunt is thee greatest fighter to ever come out of New Zealand. Not just for his fighting but for what he did for everyone else. I wish Ray had been more open to helping out the Kiwi fighters coming through back then.

David Tua is great, but realistically Mark was Oceania's greatest, Thats not a knock on David or Ray or Slamming Sam or Elvis or Dougie or Tama or anyone else from that side of the world. He led the way for guys like Jamie,Tai,Tyson,Rob,Jake and so soooo many others. Respect to all

American Muscle American Muscle, Tua's led the way for Masoe and Parker, guys you've won actual world titles. A few more other guys are climbing up the ranks. It does not seem like it, but boxing is harder to learn, though mma does many different things. In mma, one can win 5 to 8 fights then fight for the champianship. In boxing, it normally takes more the 20 fights to fight for a major title.

That in itself says everything you need to know about this man much respect mark hunt you absolute legend

Mark hit the club with some other guy at a night club in Manukau City called Colosseum, on Jack Conway ave... Im barley 16 years old drunk and hanging around outside with some older cousins. This night club was brand new with glass windows shinny chrome exterior, it was the only happening joint out south Auckland and it was pumping (nowadays IT WAS LIT) so we are parked outside on the curb side facing the entrance to the club... I remember was Mark with his (I think) Orange Jeans (called Origins) walk to the door with his Mate...the first 2 bouncers let him in...took 10 steps inside and one of the other bouncers recognised him from the city (fighting at another nightclub apparently) and Mark looked up ....paused for second and then..... and drops that bouncer. . So as he stands over the bouncer he knocked out, the other 2 run over and start throwing hay makers some connecting ... But Marks chin is rock and drops both while his mate just waits for them to hit the ground and then adds a kick to the face.As we drank outside looking at this young buck, we thought this guys gonna get rocked from the bouncers and the Colosseum had about 10 BIG SAMOANS that we bigger than a small family in a mini van at McDonalds ...By now we're all choking on our beer and thinking FUCK this guy better gas outta that motherfucker or he's FUCKED! while this was happening everyone is looking and pointing and the other bouncers start running over............ and 1 by 1 they start dropping like flies... now we're standing there looking and saying .. SOLE this guy can fight! as Mark and his mate start to back up to the entrance fighting there was out... one bouncer had come from the back with a 2x4 and smashed that behind marks head.. He drops to the ground and all the other bouncers start raining in kicks and punches.. after they were all tired they lifted him out with his mate.... Mark and mate start to walk off ,walking sideways.. Now you got to remember that this thing happens ALL the time in South Auckland, so we just keep drinking like nothing happened... about 30minutes later.. Mark and his mate comeback with rocks the size of Double Whoppers with Cheese and start throwing it to all the windows and now its jungle race with EVERYONE trying to escape the glass and rocks... and now the bouncers are scared to come out because the don't want to get hit from the rocks... BOOM now the Police arrive in force so we slowly slip away with our drunk sober driver.. but I never knew what happened after that.... BUT ........ years later I switch on K1 and see THAT GUY ...the one that got a 2x4 behind the head and still D.R.E, He's a natural born fighter if you ever see one! I guess thats why he doesn't like training, its natural .... Long story long ,the night club closed after this.. and we can thank MARK for that.
