Mark Isham on trumpet, Patrick O'hearn on electric bass and Terry Bozzio on drums was never a bad combination.

One of my favorite pieces of music ever written and played. Everything is in perfect balance and the execution is flawless and powerful. Its movement is something like a jazz fusion of Ravel's Bolero and equally suggestive. I have never had the priviledge of hearing a live performance of this ... but I keep looking and hoping.

Very nice review as for Bolero that and The King andI were my favorite records to listen on the HiFi I’m 70 and it’s still the same I’ve loved my kind of music since I was a chid. This is a lovely melody also. I was thrilled and shocked when I heard Christian McBride trio play I Have Dreamed from the King and I. Brought back many good childhood memories listening to records on our new HiFi. Life is good and so is Isham!😉

Here is a live version from the Castalia Tour Saw the show at The Bottom Line in NYC, a desert island show of that venue. Sting was in attendance hanging out and watching from the bar area. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bGmmeI1mfpmfn5Isi=005kE8ADx-MQuQtC

Around a year and a half ago, I listened to this piece of music as I drove through the rural Northern Tier of Pennsylvania on a July night, with the most vivid stars I've ever seen -- very fitting for the occasion!

End of the 80's I found this CD in the disco-bus, a truck with about 30 000 cd's in it travelling trough the Ardennes every week. Since then I play this song a few times a year on my vast collection Infinity's all together at a high level. And every time Mark Isham steps out of the wall and blows his fabulous trumpet in the room. The drums are fenomenal...

Terry Bozzio is the drummer. What more need be said.

I think it's Patrick O'Hearn on bass, too. Missing Persons meets Mark Isham.

@@davidrussell8783 yes, from the same period, windham hill retrospective, o'hearn and Isham together in Glory for tomorrow and Subtle persuasion, tracks from Patrick. By hearing this way back I stumbled on The parabolist CD. Strange that spotify doesn't hase this beauty. Although I have it on DAT. Thankfully.

I believe Gayle Moran contributed to the vocal arrangements on this album.
