The end scene is one of my favorite Mark and Lexie scenes, it's a very special scene, you can see how much Mark loves Lexie, how much he cares about her, the look on his face after he holds her hand makes my heart melt! I love them so much, I'm sure they're gonna get together again, it's just a matter of time. I mean, if they wouldn't want them together they wouldn't throw hints in almost every episode that they still have feelings foe each other and always keep turning to each other!

try to think of it like this; the actor playing lexie wanted to leave the show to spend more time with her family. if they didn't kill her off, they would of just had to write her off meaning she would've left mark. and their love was too great! lexie would've never left. so the only way they could've done it was killing her off. if the actor was leaving anyway, i'm glad they did it the way the did instead of do what they did with izze!! the way she left still bugs me!

There could also never been a crash, she could have a better job offer, he could say he'd follow her as long as they got married or something, they could leave peacefully.

Grey's anatomy already explained why Mark is with lexie I think it's in the fifth season when Dereks mother comes to visit and since she kind of raised Mark she wanted to meet Lexie and when she found out how young she was and when she finally approved her she told him that " he's too immature for a older mature woman to stay with him" or something like that.

It's interesting, because the difference between Marx&Lexie is almost the same between Derek&Mer... because Mer entered just about 2 years in the program before Lexie... But the difference is so more evident between Mark and Lexie!!! I think it's because Ellen Pompeo is older then her character... What do you think???
