I recently came to the conclusion that if you want to make a killing in trading, you have to choose discretionary trading. It took me sometimes to really understand and accept it. Mark explained it well om this video.

Find a trading edge with asymmetric risk reward & use progressive exposure to size up as the market proves your ideas correct. The difficulty is following your system consistently.

Not actually true. Or I would should say it's only true for you. There are as many ways to trade as there are traders. Systematic/algorithmic trading of various forms have made many billionaires.

Howz it's good that buying 100 dollers at $10 , and hit it ur stop at $7, against buying 30 dollers at 10 then 30 at 14 then 40 at 18, then it hits stop at $7. That's a massive risk, can u explain this

Good for you, actually I don't even understand your comment so I hope you do, "make a killing" mindset is highly unlikely to be profitable

@@TraderLionextremely difficult in reality, most beginners ramp up when doing well and forget risk management and blow up, in my opinion this is like an infant on a Harley Davidson, crash

When you are both reducing and adding to a position, what would be the best way to go about tracking your trade statistics? I want to start a spreadsheet and calculate the expected value of my trades. When you buy more and add to an open position, would you treat that as a new trade in your record keeping, or would it make more sense to treat it as one big trade and input your initial risk and your gain/loss on the entire position after closing out?
@kippsguitar65392 ай бұрын
Judging by your comment and trying to be helpful, it's highly unlikely you will be able to execute this increasing in position size until you have a lot more experience, caution

Treat every new addition as a new trade. Add spots are created not randomly, but when another proper entry point forms.

That chart is a good argument for the cheat setup. Which Oliver Kell would call a "wedge pop". That allows the two additional setups and the add. Looking at this... I'd never have it done in that way. Especially looking at 30th and 31st of May, with the close below the 10EMA and the test of the 50SMA. No way I'd hold through that.

Plenty of ways to make money in the market! A lot of it comes down to your last sentence, knowing what system fits your personality the best.

@@kippsguitar6539 Well, the deeper you go down the rabbit hole, the more complicated and difficult it gets. Base strategies are simple. But the nuances never are.
