Yesterday my 14 year old son lost his best friend in the whole world, his auntie. This was their song. In the hour she passed this song played while he was in his gym class. He came home from school later that day. Before I had the chance to tell him she had passed he told me he thought she somehow came to him through this song ( even if lyrics are not connected, they loved to jam in the car to this song) Now, he can't listen to it. Hopefully someday this song will bring him joy to listen to again. My father and I have the same problem, back March of 2023 my mother passed on. He was with her for 42 years and I am 32, they were children in the 60's, teens in the 70's, and met up in the 80's. I never got a chance to listen to my music on car rides but I didn't care much. Presently, he and I are finding it super hard to listen to anything from the past 50 years without connecting it to Ma, but every now and then when we are feeling blue SOS by Abba will turn on or a Jim Croce song, even Amie by Pure Prairie League will make us look at things differently.
