Was a fun game to watch and definitely refreshed the UK vs UL rivalry. Proud of our guys to fight and win a contested game. Lamont Butler was humongous for the Cats tonight 33 pts and six 3's and didn't miss a shot from the field. Love all of our coaching staff and each of the players. Excited to see the next game in New York vs the Buckeyes. Go CATS 💙🏀😺

Lamont Butler is the reason Kentucky won this game and he will be a big reason why they will go far in the tournament this year. Butler learned how to play defense at San Diego State and won defensive player of the year and that shows what an impactful player he is. San Diego State’s coach Brian Dutcher is the best at developing defense so anyone that want to become an all-around player should go to San Diego State.

Butler led them in scoring, but he also missed 5 (!) FTs & only grabbed 3 of the rebounds, while Carr, Williams, & Robinson had 9, 8, 8. Def. rebounding & holding UL to 0 2nd chance points in the 2nd half were also important. Teams win games, not one player.

Butler had to be ready way before this evening. Someone doesn't have an ankle injury, then come out and play like he was never injured. He was on his game, and his 3's fell for him. He hasn't made that many 3's all year. Let's see if he can keep it up

Our defensive ranking keeps dropping in kenpom. I still say this is a great defensive team, and I assume it's a f'd up kenpom ranking system

Love this team, great win, great coaches on both sides, some impressive individual performances on both sides, BUT this trend of bad/underwhelming team performance in free throws, layups, and rebounding is a little concerning. If it continues into league play we could end up middle of the pack in the conference. Almost every team seems like a Quad 1 opponent. Hope they start addressing those 3 areas ASAP.

Pope needs to get up in the refs faces when they try to take over a game...... Pat Adams was overturning his own refs calls and most of them went against Kentucky...... Pope needs to stand up for the players and get up in faces of the refs sometimes....

They shot for 58.2% overall and 52.4% from the three line. Butler was 10 for 10. What else do you want from offense? Yes the perimeter d needs improving but they will improve but let's not forget, this is a rebuilding year and they got 3 big wins not play their best.
