@harveyblevins74 Finally BBN is back, it was a nice ride with Cal being able to watch those top players for years and cause a reckoning within college basketball over the years. This next era has only 1 goal, win a championship. *not put guys in the NBA. Kentucky is more than a hub for the nba

I don’t dislike Cal and I wish him the best but a lot of the moves he made felt like he was only about accomplishing his own accolades and not winning championships and hanging banners. There’s never been another program in history to have the type of talent that had the amount of talent and didn’t win championships as the coach Cal era. 1 Championship and we should have at least won 3 to 4 with the talent we had. Just shows you that Cal is a far better recruiter than he is at the X’s and O’s of the game. Pope, is 100% a X’s and O’s coach. Now he has the resources to bring in top talent as well. Sky is the limit. I believe this roster we have so far will be contenders this year. Save the comment!!!

I wasn’t this excited when Cal got the job. I don’t think I’ve been this excited since coach P days. We really should have won 3 in a row. That injury really hurt us vs Arizona in 97. And Tubby just reaped the benefits of what coach P did. That was coach Ps team. We could’ve won that year without a coach imo. Not to knock Tubby at all. I think Pope is EXACTLY what we needed. Getting back to the Kentucky roots that make our Wildcat family so special. This feels like us fans our really FAMILY again!

He's everything Cals not... and that's exactly what we wanted/need. Love the authenticity of coach. Love how humble he is. He WILL win at KY. Even when he takes a loss, I feel like he will take ownership of it and shoot the fans straight. He's a likeable guy win or lose. In the same breath we all understand the assignment! On his national championship Kentucky team, Coach Pope was part of an absolutely loaded, athletic roster. I believe with the moves he has made and with a successful season under his belt at Kentucky, he will bring in several more elite athletes.

How could you not play for this guy man, he is genuine, humble, ambitious and relentless in his work ethic. I'd rather play for a dude like this than a snobby yuppy dude like Dan Hurley. These kids actually think their chances of winning a championship are better going to a program that is coming off a back to back ?? Statistically that not even close. The 1996 Cats lost a November 1995 game to John Calipari’s UMass team, and didn’t lose again until the SEC Tournament championship game, dropping to Mississippi State. They won out from there, including beating Tim Duncan’s Wake Forest team in the NCAA Tournament by 20 points and avenging the UMass loss in the national semifinal game.
