My husband and I want to thank you for all your helpful videos. They really help with his stress and anxiety over his prostate cancer. He should be having his surgery by the end of this month.

Mark, Just a quick note of thanks. I’m home today from having a prostatectomy, and at least for me, your videos have been spot on with my experience. So far it’s been way more a mental issue than a physical. Thanks for doing these, they were of great help.

It would be helpful to know why you chose RARP over radiation like IG-IMRT or brachytherapy.

It's Dec 2021 ..I have prostate cancer at 60...I have a consultation with radiologist and surgery..but I'm leaning to surgery..just to limit the cancer out of my body

I’m going for a fusion biopsy December 30, My first MRI 11-27-21 was read as a high probability of cancer. Still I’m totally unsure where I am at this point. I’m like you probably would go for surgery.good luck.

My husband had the same surgery Mark had (robotic prostatectomy) in August 2021. Like Mark, he had a positive experience and has recovered amazingly well with no lasting effects other than some little scars on his belly. All the very best to you.

It is a great tragedy that a man becomes infertile, and suffers from impotence as well as urinary incontenince immediately after radical prostatectomy is performed on him. Therefore, a man who has just been diagnosed with prostate cancer should really give it a very careful consideration in whether or not to even treat the prostate cancer, which has been known to grow very slowly, rarely causes symptoms, harms, or deaths in men. Most men don't of prostate cancer. There are currently 13 millions American living with prostate cancer. The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force strongly recommends against PSA testing which is a "simple" blood test conducted on men between the age of 55 and over for the possibility of developing prostate cancer (if tested positive, a man would be recommended to undergo a dangerous biopsy which itself is an inaccurate medical procedure. A man can die from infection(s) due to invasion of bacteria in his rectum caused by the biopsy). I, myself, am against PSA testing because of its inherent inaccuracy. My personal story involves my father who was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer at the age of 51, but he lived without any pains or symptoms until he died at the age 102 with ever receiving any prostate cancer treatment(s). Also, if a man's prostate cancer is lethal, no matter what cancer treatment (s) he receives, he still dies! Many men grossly over-estimates their survivability because they receive prostate cancer treatment(s), and they grossly under-estimates their survivability without prostate cancer treatment(s).

You make some very valid points Kam. May I ask, why and how was your father diagnosed with prostate cancer if he didn’t have any symptoms ?
