Bravo all!!! My heart goes out to Teresa’s Mum,sister & daughters especially as well as her many friends & patients. What a senseless,horrific loss. Come home to your sanctuary & your furry children, ahhh there’s no place like home..to face such terror,fight unarmed against two prepared murderous men, no chance of survival,death was the foregone conclusion. WHY? Greed & indescribable selfishness. We come into the world with nothing & go out the same way,everybody,prince or pauper. Good thing she barks & it’s a fact that homes with dogs are less likely to be targeted...easier to move on coz they don’t know the temperament of the dog!!! Even though she’s a softie I feel so much safer with her. Who knows (hope never have to find out) but if someone attacked me I believe she’d protect me. Teresa’s dogs knew Curtis,he’d been invited into their home before so they didn’t see him as a threat. Easy to put them out so they couldn’t help their ‘Mum’ SMH.

He never seemed to get rattled the way she did, especially when the defense’s objections were sustained and she had to rephrase her question, and was very relaxed without ever being lazy or half assed. She visibly struggled with rephrasing her questions, but that’s the only tiny weakness I noticed. Each of them had excellent vocabularies and knew how to be very formal in their address without ever being condescending to anyone, and each knew the case inside and out. They were just a really dynamic team, and the man’s questioning of Wright was a masterpiece!

The kids will get the money. Mark can’t benefit from the murder, but his children would be eligible. In fact, that was the big custody issue....Mark’s mother hadn’t thought she would take the girls bc her health wasn’t that great at the time, but Mark forced her to try to get custody of them so he could control the money-anonymously-through her. Teresa’s family had other ideas, though! Her mother moved to Florida from Connecticut and had taken the girls to live with her in a rented condo so they could keep going to their school with their friends, etc., so she was given custody. The Family Court also made her a trustee of the children’s trust with other people close to Teresa.

@voraciousreader33413 жыл бұрын
I don’t agree with you, at all. But do you think presiding over a capital murder trial with the possibility of the death penalty as part of the sentence is a walk in the park?? And everything rides on the decisions the judge makes during the trial, meaning he has no idea ahead of time what objections will be made by the defense and prosecution based on any of the evidence provided and all of the testimony made by witnesses. If the judge makes one error, the verdict could be thrown out by the appeals court and a new trial ordered, so he has to have laser focus throughout the trial. Do you not think that might stress a person out, just a bit??? Anyway, I only saw the judge rub his face or look exhausted when the jury wasn’t there, so he acted very professionally. And, btw, both of the appeals Sievers has made so far-including the Florida State Court of Appeals-have been rejected!

Wow, brilliant indeed, trying to make sense of the senseless murder and making the true killer look like he's a lamb telling the truth? That's where I am not convinced at all. Clearly, she is winning the case which is constructed to fit a logical narrative. The husband could still be innocent and that's the problem. And IF he is innocent he would still have lost the case. The other guy, Mr Wright, that testified is not and gets away with nothing. Even the messages show that this guy is dependant on Mr Wright and has given him power over him. I wonder what it would have been like if the woman would have been at the defense...
@CynHicks3 жыл бұрын
I too am in the "this trial stinks" club. Maybe I'm unreasonably protective of innocence because I would rather the guilty walk free but I'm not satisfied with this one. The fact that this entire case was built on the story of a murderer. While they did offer facts that corroborated some of his story those facts definitely couldn't stand alone. Then the fact that the state decided not to poly him until after the trial... Obviously strategic and dirty in my mind. Maybe it's my distrust of the state. I don't know but I do think he was likley guilty.

The only thing I dislike about these trials being published with the cell phones pinging or any other tools I guess you can say is it possibly prepares future criminals what to do and not to do or possibly hide cell phone or any potential evidence or tools. Yes I know not all criminals are the smartest of people but it kind of gives future or current criminals the upper hand.
@voraciousreader33413 жыл бұрын
Well, what’s actually happened is that law enforcement, led by the FBI, has been able to keep up with the majority of criminals, and the FBI has the funding to develop technology which it shares with state and local cops. I think the worst criminals of all-psychopaths who are sexual sadists and serial killers-are also the hardest to catch bc their victims are chosen at random, making them nearly impossible to catch. But, as in this case, the other more common murderous psychopaths and sociopaths tend to kill people they’re involved with in some way, making it much easier to catch them. Then, they always seem to always think they’re smarter than law enforcement, which means they get caught much more often. And Jimmy Rodgers was the Weakest Link in this crew....he told his girlfriend _everything,_ and she thankfully told the police. If it had been only Sievers and Wright, they might not have been caught.

I think it essentially _was_ well planned. The problem was Jimmy Rodgers. Wright told him not to bring his usual cell phone due to cell phone towers all the way down (he brought it and linked it to the travel gadget via Bluetooth; he insisted on going to Walmart, where they appeared on video surveillance; he didn’t get rid of the jumpsuits, gloves and burner phone in random places on the way home from Florida; and he spilled everything to his girlfriend and made her help him dispose of that very damning evidence. She then led inspectors right to the jumpsuits, the lint from which had been found on Teresa’s clothes. I mean, thank God she told! But Jimmy blew everything, and Wright couldn’t keep him in line. I think it’s just possible that Wright and Sievers alone may not have been caught.

I wouldn’t be very happy, either. The defense attorney was showing his desperation, trying to goad the assistant prosecutor into making an “improper argument,” which could result in a mistrial, or succeed at the appeals level, forcing the prosecution to do it all over again. That’s a tremendous amount of pressure, right at the end when everybody’s exhausted. Sievers’ lookalike finally seemed to care about what he was doing! I think the jury was sympathetic to the assistant prosecutor, though, bc the defense attorney looked like a jerk.

If I would have been the Defense attorney I would have gone for the scenario whereby Mark Sievers “hired” Curtis Wright to burglarize his house. This to rob the 50,000 dollar from the safe. That scenario could explain the burner phone. This to communicate with Curtis Wayne Wright to plan the burglary. As defense attorney you could sell the fact that victim came home unplanned and that in the chaos she was murdered. The state would not be able to counter that scenario in my opinion. Defendant could then not be sentenced for 1st degree premeditated murder. This since defendant didnt plan the murder in that scenario.

Erik S Mark was to arrogant to let anyone argue him not guilty...point blank.

Nah should have argued jimmy and Curtis addicted to meth and Curtis knew mark was on vacation so he went to rob house not knowing dr sievers was coming home early. Burner phone was because mark was talking to Curtis about leaving his wife and kids and coming to live in Missouri

Bald heads, Glasses, Dark Suites, #13, copycat demeanor, Defense tactics will not defy facts! Phenomenal Prosecution putting together the puzzle for a guilty verdict👏

He took the Jodi Arias approach. Take on the look of your lawyer.

Harried and confused Prosecution attorney. Thankfully, there was more than enough evidence presented during trial to convict Sievers. But this woman was all mixed up. She confused me with the long list of numbers and the Exhibit numbers, and the staggered cadence of her voice and the pauses to find the papers (she held up in her hand), and her apologies for losing her place. JUST PRESENT THE THREE POINTS CLEARLY WITHOUT NOTING THE PAGE NUMBER AND EVIDENCE DOCUMENT NUMBER, ALREADY!!! Clearly you didn't practice your summary beforehand. It was embarrassing.

Anybody know who the guy at the end of Sievers table (beside him) is? He's done zero thru the whole trial, except look like he travelled thru time from the Mafiosa Lawyer wardrobe of 1985. That and like he's thinking next dinner time down at Luigi's, he's gonna get the veal with the gravy.

Really?! With all of his objections during her closing is ridiculous. She can say whatever she wants to that’s why it’s not part of the evidence the defense was trying to throw her off her game it didn’t work. My god look at all the crap that was said at the Casey Anthony trial..... LoL 😂 🤣🤣🤣

The defense is failing badly especially the drk.-haired gentleman. Can you give just a slight nod of the head to acknowledge your client?
