I visited the Twain House some years ago - a terrific experience. I find his interest in German interesting (studying it in Heidelberg , for example) - also his humorous comments about it.

It is a fine house, although musty smelling in summer. Twain built it on his wife's money, betting his books would sell well. The tour is excellent. Amy Goodman, Ralph Nader, and Noam Chomsky spoke there in 2014. The Hartford that now surrounds the "farm" is unfortunately rather hideous these days with homeless beggars about and the fear of crime in the air.
