You honestly have no idea how much of a positive influence you are on others, Justin. I discovered your videos on the old channel roughly around the time you started on this course, and I have been through some things myself since that time. Not to where I have a different life, but enough that I can see where I was, and I hopefully am in a better place over-all now. It's crazy to think how different things were... Keep on being that well of positivity man.

Justin, this was an extremely interesting video not only about Mark Twain, aka Samuel L. Clemens,.but about yourself as well!!!! I've only been watching your videos for 1 n a half years now, n I am loving going back n seeing all your infamous exploits!!! Your comments about remembering the journey, even if the destination was failure, were extremely wonderful advice, that fell on my 66 year old ears that really needed to hear that from someone at this time in my life!!! Thank you for the sage advice, much like Mark Twain departed to us over the years. Great job Justin, worth Four Attaboys totally!!!

Enjoyed this Florida, Missouri (plus Hannibal) episode. Your love of Mark Twain is contagious for sure. I’m sorry to learn about your Uncle’s condition and I’m very glad you’re going to visit with him and your family. I’ll be visiting my son in STL in June. It’s always good to go back 🏡 to a place where I used to live. Now we’re on Route 66 in central Oklahoma. Cheers, Be Well and Safe. SG

So sorry you're having this van problem. I had the same vintage van with the Starcraft design. Mine was purple. It became a money-pit trying to keep it running. I'm sure there are many of them on the road that run great. With mine, I never knew if when I stopped at a light that it would just die on me....which it did many times. I do enjoy your travel videos!

Your window issue is probably a bad driver window switch. The switch runs in series with the windows. It's possible it just backed out since the passenger window had issues before the driver window. Or it could be as simple as replacing the driver switch. The gauges and radio turning off while driving, could be the ignition switch not being seated all the way. The old Dodge vans do not have much slack in the harness to the ignition. If it has tilt, the plug can back out. Make sure it's plugged in all the way at the ignition switch.

Hi Justin, Try some ‘seafoam’ from an auto store, you add to the gas tank to help clean the engine valves/pistons. Worth a try.

Just a comment on the van. Has the check engine light been on or is it on? Normally on something newer than mid 90s just about anything can be diagnosed with a good scanner through the OBD2 system. You need a good scanner and a technician who knows how to use it. Just from the little you have said it could be an O2 sensor or an EGR valve. Or, a clogged catalytic converter may cause rough running. Like I said, what you need is a good tech and a good scanner.

I drive a 1998 BMw 5 series and boy let me tell ya! I feel you with all these troubles . In the summer the Window motor melts and if you can time it right it'll melt closed but if you time it wrong it can melt down and the window will be down until you can take it into the Mechanic . As well my Transmission blew on me one time and was an expensive fix pretty much had to put a brand new one in! my steering wheel column gets struck when the car does not warm up in the cold . My car has it's problems.

Justin, Thank you for the outstanding travel episodes! You've taken me to places I have never previously experienced. Born and raised in LA, I later lived in the St. Louis area from 85-87, but never got to Hannibal. So, thank you! You saved me a lot of miles and gave me a lot of smiles! When you pass through St. Louis again, check out the Spaghetti Factory at Laclede's Landing. Ask for the mizithra cheese with your spaghetti--you'll be true to your Italian heritage. On a final note for now--I bought a brand new Dodge Mark 3 in 1996. My wife and I, along with our three boys, travelled all over the US and Canada in this van. We experienced so much happiness as we witnessed first-hand the beauty and unique characteristics of of every part of our nation. Sadly, with about 190,000 miles on the van, it began to suffer from its ultimate defect--its transmission. We never towed anything, but after two expensive repairs, we donated it to a military charity. I hope yours fares better. I think there are a lot of us who have been praying for Allie, and now we are also praying that your Mark 3 will continue to whisk you to many new destinations--now and in the years to come!

Any vehicle that age will give you some trouble. Those engines will burn a valve once in a while. That repair is going to be costly. It may be worth it. The rest of the van looks pretty good. Stay safe.

Justin the best thing to do is check the oil every time you stop for gas!! It should live. Those engines will keep running. Just watch for blueish smoke out the tail pipe. If you decide to come to Hartford Connecticut to see the Mark Twain house I'd be happy to pull the heads and put a new set on. Best thing for you is to get to Pennsylvania!

Go to auto zone or some similar shop and get a fuel additive for about $10-20. Explain to them that it’s running rough and you need a fuel additive to treat an entire tank on something that was sitting for a long time before you got it. I almost guarantee it will make a difference. I can’t remember specifically what it’s called but it’s a cleaner + kind of solution for the running components that use the fuel. I’ve had experience with this owning old vehicles.

As I have learned, Great people often color the record of their life with wisdom. As Sam said he arrived with a comet, and left with the same comets return. Life is a series of beginnings, and endings. A great man once called his life "Staggering between the immensities of Birth, and death" what lies between the twain, is you.

From what you said it sounds like you're lacking Compression in one or more Cylinders, sadly for many engines thats the make you comftable rather than fix you point as factors like wear in the cylinder walls, warped heads and cracks can render costs more than it's worth to repair. That doesn't however mean the Van won't drive, it's possible to run like that for years without breakdown and as long as it meets emission requirements where you live you needn't worry to give it more than general maintainence until the day the last Cylinder stops fireing, it may not be a bad idea if you can store things to keep spare parts on hand as speaking from owning a 20 year old Car myself, it covers the days things get unobtanium and keeps costs down. Enough of the doom and gloom though, good luck on your journey.
@saitoman2 жыл бұрын
You might be better off getting a new engine instead of a rebuild should you wish to keep the van. The valves, piston rings or something is really worn out most likely. If it isn’t vibrating too much then you might make it.
