Every time the name of Mario is mentioned, it says that he was the world's greatest Tenor which he was. But that is not the entire picture. His baritone voice made him the perfect singer for "The Great American Songbook". None of "The Three Tenors" could hold a candle to Mario. Mario was a very handsome, serious actor, his operatic tenor voice was unlike any other, and he could play the love interest in major movies. His timing was perfect. His range was extraordinary. Can you imagine any of the 3 Tenors singing "Because You're Mine" to any woman without her laughing? Young Mark is very respectful of Mario which I like. For young Mark to do a virtual duet with his idol Mario when he knows that people will be comparing both of their gorgeous voices was very brave of Mark. But I think that he wanted people who have never heard Mario to hear and understand what a treasure Mario was.

My mother knew Mario in south Philadelphia. I believe she had a crush on him because she had all his albums and when he passed, my grandmother wouldn't tell her because she was pregnant with my sister. He is the only tenor who gives me goosebumps - fiery, passionate, sexy, powerful. I understand why my mother had such feelings for him.

Mario was a mix of talent and tragedy. He was one of those unicorns born with that golden voice but not surrounded with people who were strong enough to stand up to him. Mark is blessed to a good head of his shoulders and a voice he knows how to take good care of protect.

Mario Lanza had one of the best spinto tenors voices of the last century, Mark Vincent's tenor voice is pleasant enough, like many other crossover singers. Compared with current operatic tenors, Juan Diego Florez, Joseph Calleja and some of the tenor finalists in Caridiff Singer of the World 2023, they are in another league altogether.
