Mark, Thank you so much for all that you do. The food. The Travel, The Comments. Just excellent. I'm 72 years old living in Hickory North Carolina. A few years ago I was laid up after back surgery and later found that I could not walk. After helping raise 7 kids and 52 years of marriage it was a big blow to not be able to walk. It's amazing how many things begin with a STEP. My world shrunk from the entire East coast to pretty much my house and surrounding grounds. I have traveled to Europe several times as well as South America but that was before I gave any thought to the street food seen in these countries. My hobbies are water color painting as well as an accomplished guitar player. Since my surgery Iv'e watched Andrew Zimmern and became addicted to his show. I stumbled across Migrationology by accident and am so thankful I did. Your show has been a godsend to me. I would have liked to travel a lot during retirement but alas that will not happen. Through your show I have all the travel I could ever want. The fact you include Ming and Mika in your travels makes me feel really good about the person you are. I've watched the other food video shows and they are OK, on occasion Sonny is actually funny. Yours is by far the best out there. I especially liked the Jamaica King Crab Run Down. as well as all the BUGS YOU EAT. It was great. A Question. Andrew Zimmern once said he was actually fearful for his safety during a Sahara video where he was eating a camel with a bunch of arabs. They started some sort of punching game and he became concerned. Have you ever had an experience like that? You and Ming get into some pretty sketchy places. Also would like to know more bout the fellow that travels with you. Dark hair heave black rimmed glasses. Can't recall his name now. 'How did you two get together. He is in a lot of yoru videos.' As a result of your show I have kicked my wife Jan out of the kitchen and have learned to cook. I cant do all the outside yard work I use to do so now I'm the chief cook and cleanup guy. On line I have learned dozens of Thi, Phillipino and east asian recipes. My wife is not a huge fan but my 18 grandkids love to visit grandpa when he's cooking. In conclusion your show has been a life savor for me. It's kept me sane during a rough time in my life. I do believe in miracles so perhaps I'll see you in Bangkok or Manilla some day soon. Cheers " toasting coconut grub". The best to you and your family. Charles A.Bodnar

Ying, Micah, and Joel ☺. I'd like to know more about him too. I thought they were related at first. I'm sorry about you losing the ability to walk....but it seems you're a pretty resilient guy, since you didn't let that stop you from living your life. I wish you the best!

Hi Mark! Great video again! You have been living pretty interesting life so far! If you dont mind id like to ask you about 2 things. First you said that you are not too keen on teaching english for a long time. Why is that? Also could you share quick personal list of your five most favorite dishes?( i know its hard!) thanks very much and keep up your blogging!!!

Hello Mir Bar Thanks for watching. 1) Simply because it's not my personal style, I prefer to work for myself, rather than having rules to follow, also I like to be outdoors exploring and eating - however it was a great experience. 2) hmmm that is tough, here are five of my favorite (but maybe not my ultimate favorite) - shrimp with stink beans (petai), Sri Lankan chicken curry, nasi lemak, poke from Hawaii, and kimchi jiggae.

So Mark you are a well known member of our household. I found you a couple of years ago and just fell in love with your channel. After watching for awhile I deduced that you grew up on the mission field because I went to a Christian school that's a part of Youth With A Mission and I recognized a lot of similarities in your approach to travel etc. One of my friends grew up in Africa much the way you did before she came to Texas to stay. You guys are so precious and it's so cool to watch your little boy grow up. I get to live vicariously through you as you travel to the amazing places and eat all kinds of amazing food! Thanks so much for all that you do. God bless, Jessica

I'm currently living in Mobile, AL but I grew up an Air Force military brat. My family and I got a chance to live in Germany for four years and I did get a chance to taste different food from Europe. Soul food is my first love since that's what we grew up eating. Chicken, collard greens, mac and cheese, peas and okra, corn bread, dressing. All the good southern foods. :D I do love to eat and try new things. My brothers and I are pretty adventurous with trying new foods. I love Japanese, Filipino, and Vietnamese food. My dream vacation is to go to Hawaii and Japan.

Hello Marc we are Ken and Gabi and live in Lyon France. I did to France reviews in Albertville probably at the school where your parents attend. We have lived in India and Travel in Asia a little bit. We are interested in your blogs and enjoy eating street food as well. During our stay in India we had to take precautions to avoid getting sick. In the south of India we drink a lot of coconut milk before bottle water was available. We always carry a filter and also tablets to reduce the possibility of getting sick. What time of precautions have you taken says you eat street food in so many countries.? We have several trips in our planning. That includes Vietnam and Philippines and Thailand. We will search your blogs for information and I are planning for those trips. Thank you for the response to our question. We really do enjoy French food. My wife is half Dutch and French. I am originally AmericanBut have French nationality also. Hi Mark. I enjoyed your Hunza Valley video. I just discovered you and because my maiden name is Wiens I especially enjoyed seeing that someone with the Wiens name is doing so much to make the world a friendlier place. Showing the connection between people through food takes away a lot of the anxiety the people feel toward foreigners. We all love food and need food to survive so it is through food that we can all make the world a more loveable and livable place. My parents are from Russia and they immigrated to Canada in 1924. The Wiens name according to my research relates to Dutch and German people. My mother was also an amazing cook so I also have a real affection for food. Thank you for sharing your adventures with me and all the rest of the people who love food.

You are a great person doing great things. I am both blessed and entertained by your videos. I am in IT but took a break in 2001 - ‘07 to become a chef and own a restaurant. Italian Deli and Trattoria. Loved. Returned to IT in the ‘07 crash and left CA. Happily chasing good food now enjoying critiquing restaurants. I have made foodies out of my triplet boys and I love watching them eat interesting food. They watch your show with dad and comment. Fun times. Thank you and keep it up.

Hi Mark, my name is Ronaldo de Lima, when traveling is permitted and safe again, I hope you will visit the island of Guam here in the Western Pacific. We have some unique food that you will love. Been watching you for about 1 year now, and I must say your natural presence and humbleness is what makes your all of your videos enjoyable to watch. Of course, your reactions when eating define the greatness and quality of the food! Which compliments the cook every time! I don't travel much of the world, but watching your videos stimulates my interest. Stay safe and keep eating great food all over the world!
