I met an amazing woman a few years back, she was beautiful...I took her and her 5 year old daughter out of an abusive situation. approximately 5 months later, she advised me that she was sick of my work schedule due to me working sometimes 12 hour shifts. I provided a nice home with an Olympic sized pool in the back along with buying her the first new car she has ever had. Then one day, she advised me that she had met someone else and she was "in love" I said okay....when will you be leaving? I had my son meet her there so she wouldn't be taking anything of mine. Long story short, she ended up getting beat up by this guy several times. Her face along with his was plastered on the local sheriffs office mugshot gallery for DV. She has messaged me several times, wanting to come back but unfortunately for her, I had already met someone else. My now wife is a godsent and I would never give up this beautiful and respectful woman just to go back to an unappreciative woman, by the way...I am a handsome man before haters chime in.

This song always hits me hard because I was going through a situation simular to this, when this song first came out. It's been 16 yrs and I still think about her to this day. I haven't spoken to her in 6 yrs and prior to that it was almost 7 yrs when it was the last time I talk to her. I know now it will never happen with her. The last time I spoke to her I said and had my closure with her. I hope she's doing good. She was my first love and I miss her, but it's for the best.

Ive been there bro. Its a hard pill to swallow. You have to realize the one thing that hurts the most. I can promise you, that shes the first thing you think about in the morning when you wake up, and the last thing before you go to sleep at night. But you never cross her mind not even once. My wife of nearly 18 years walked away from me and our kids nearly 3 years ago for another guy. It hit me hard that to her, I was more of a bother than a blessing. It gets better, though.
