Love hearing Zinno and his takes, cuz he don't hold back!!!

I think they should try to trade him for the best offer no matter how low it is. If they can't trade him they might as well keep him as a backup. They would have to pay a backup to replace him anyway. I think releasing Cousins would be the dumbest thing they could do. Especially if Penix ends up getting injured like he did in college and then Cousins possibly improves another year removed from his Achilles surgery.

I'm no fan of Terry Fontenot, but this organization has been a clown show since we lost the superbowl back in 2017. Yes Fontenot was here for the Deshaun Watson fiasco, but he's not the one who drafted Marlon Davidson or Tak Mckinley or Isaiah Oliver. This ridiculousness has been going on through three head coaches and two general managers, and the only common denominators are Arthur Blank and Rich McKay. Through all of the bad draft picks, botched free agent signings and awkwardly handled situations, Rich McKay has been hovering in the background like the Sam Rothstein character in casino. Every couple years they change his job title hoping we'll forget about him. Next month he'll be the food and beverage manager. Obviously I don't know for sure, but I strongly suspect Kirk Cousins wasn't even Fontenot's decision. That one has Arthur Blank's fingerprints all over it. They need to fire Rich McKay and Arthur Blank needs to step back and let the football people run the team.

I agree with you hold heartedly. Unfortunately we live in a town where PR and marketing in the Falcons organization is more important than football operations. Arthur Blank is running Home Depot with the NFL logo attached to it.

Zinno was deff pretty harsh against Terry during the press conference. I don't think Kirk was Terry's choice. I think Terry saved this organization with the Penix pick, and has brought us in the mix every year despite terrible coaching and QB play.

in the mix of barely making the playoffs extending the falcons playoff drought, benching a qb that cost 180 mil. What a weird way to save this this organization 🤔

@ElLoropoco If ur saying 180 million then you're lying for attention and should be ignored. Bye.

I would hate for him to leave but he can be a starter somewhere. I personally think hes not fully recovered from the injury last year.

Let’s not forget Didn’t Terry bring in Kaden Ellis?

Can we admit that this didn’t work out and it wasn’t a brilliant idea? Why do we package this with the selection of MPJ pick and say this was a genius move? Was there another willing to offer Kirk the same deal?

C'mon Zinno. You know he meant "Comfortable holding on to him as opposed to just outright cutting him." Stop playing dense. You know he is owed guaranteed money and the incremental cost is $10M. So there is no real advantage to just announce they are cutting him when they'd still have to pay a backup and they might possibly get a suitor for a trade.
