TIKAL, GUATEMALA - One of the things I was most looking forward to doing in Guatemala (aside from the food), was visiting the ancient Mayan city of Tikal in Guatemala. We spent about 4 hours there visiting the top temples and pyramids and learning about the interesting and mysterious history of the Mayans who built it.
I would highly recommend visiting Tikal when you’re in Guatemala, it’s incredible. But the canteen food could definitely do with some improvement.

One neat aspect to Guatemala's food scene is the presence of cardamom. I believe German Mennonites brought cardamom to the region (near Antigua). Now, Guatemala exports the vast majority of it to a likely candidate, India. However, some chocolate bars in Guatemala come with cardamomo.

I slept a full moon night on el Mundo Perdido in 1992. We could hear laughing and see flashlights coming from Temple 4. You could climb all temples back then. Got malaria north of Tikal at the largest ruin in C. America. La Danta El Mirador.

The hier temple is in Mirador. Guatemala. And the biggest (largest) piramid is Aguada Felix Mexico. 2.4 km in length and 15 meters in hight.
