Mark, Just watched Security Guard Confrontation. Found this video very interesting especially from a practical n street type confrontation. Usually we see videos in a control environment, like a dojo, but this video is more practical that addresses a common real life situation. Please continue to upload MORE of these type of everyday situations and how to defend against it. One example would be a person being attacked by one or more guys. Thanks again.

Man, most ppl say most ppl say these takedowns probably won’t work for some reason but for some reason it works for law enforcement.

Let me start by saying I love all your guys content and have learned tremendously from the channel. I have trained in FMA for over 20yrs and continue to be enriched by your training. Much respect. IMHO one difficulty of FMA is that especially the older/more traditional forms are NOT for self defense; they are techniques of war explicitly designed to inflict maximum damage with minimal personal risk. While depending on context and goals this may be warranted, many techniques need to be adapted for Law Enforcement or security reasons. While I appreciate that the particular techniques in this vid are designed to set up for strikes and to be aware of weapons (which is what FMA excels at), these considerations may or may not be appropriate for a mall security standpoint, especially when the perpetrator is already 1v3 in a public situation and not violently resisting (not apparently anyway). I believe it is of utmost importance to train for the worst in whatever art is practiced, and that through constant training, one develops the wisdom to deploy the most appropriate technique for the situation. It seemed that here the goal was to keep the alleged perpetrator standing fo escort out, with possibly restraint if needed. With that in mind, perhaps a joint-destruction takedown with setups for striking may not be most appropriate. But I could be wrong. Law enforcement is inherently in a difficult position to maintain safety as best they can with minimal necessary force, all against people who don't play by the rules. In that respect, all sorts of constant training is needed, and it is through sharing and discussing these ideas openly like this can we all be better and safer together. Respect and Harmony

have to remember a lot this has do with control which you had some of it correct, However ideally you need the subject on his back. Compressing the rib cage as you did makes it harder for the subject to breath therefore causing the subject to panic and fight more aggressively. On a side note if you place your knee on the ribs and the person is fighting back you could break a rib hurting the individual. This is what I learned in Use Of Force class with my security company who are actually in this video.

I been saying this for the longest. Security guards don't have the best or even okay training let alone empty hand training

Tactics in law enforcement is not a simple nor easy thing. Civilian instructors, by-and-large, never get a foot in the door to become POST certified because of the amount of overhead (tactics, personnel, training, liabilities) involved with introducing tactics to law enforcement. It was difficult BEFORE the current climate - these days, the litigation liabilities potential is thru the roof. I love FMA, but there's no cops watching and certainly no cops performing these techniques. IF CAUGHT ON VIDEO PERFORMING TECHNIQUES NOT APPROVED, COPS GET FIRED AND LOSE THEIR TIME IN FOR PENSION. No cops will do that - zero. If you want to teach cops in a civilian setting, you are either Krav Maga or BJJ. And, that's kinda it. But I do like your channel and will continue to watch.

A better breakdown video would discuss how to escape from three security guards who are trying to wrongfully detain you.

Great job, however you should of shown how to turn the individual over on their stomach for them to be handcuffed. Also show how to work with another person on controlling a disruptive individual.
