Got it in last December. A month before they started to sell it... and now it's my main pair of mics. Carrying DJI Mic2 with me for incase as a backup mic. But never actually used it since. Great product. Great value for money. And most important rule for all of these wireless mics. Never. Never ever ever ever touch the noise cancelling button. It's always sounds like garbage. Oh. One more thing. There is a tiny triangle on the back of the mic transmitter. It shows the mic capsule side. So you can actually see where the transmitter is pointing. Even with the wind muff on it.

Brilliant - as usual your wit adds so much to your reviews and insights. Was thinking of updating my rode wireless go 2 set for the dji mic 2. Love the compact size if the M2 and most importantly the sound is very comparable in your tests. Will probably end up buying both as the dji has the internal 32 bit recording and other features which are very usefully. Here in the UK the M2 is less than 1/2 the price of the dji mic 2!!! Top work Mark!!!

The only MAJOR downside is the deadcat. If you never tried you can't imagine how difficult it is to put it on the mic. And you can't leave it on as it won't fit in the charger box. Seems small issue but trust me it's a nightmare. Let alone it's very easy to press the noise canceling button in the process when you don't intend to.

Another awesome sound test! I have the M2 and the DJI Mic 2. I'm finding I use the M2 most of the time with my phone and even my DJI Pocket 3 because it's so small and lightweight. It doesn't have the bells and whistles like plugging in a wireless lav to a 3.5mm input and records both mics to one channel - but for getting good audio without feeling like a guy walking around with a huge furry box on his chest, I really like the M2. The main weakness was with the wind screen it's huge. I got around that by buying a cheap small wind muff that I use adhesive to put over just the mic area. Hf with this mic if you get it!

I wanted to get a new set of wireless mic for myself , and came across your videos , honest informative and funny. Sound-wise - i feel Rode has the best quality! Lark 2 is secondbest but ANC is too modified, and the windmuff looked hilarius , your neighbour will think you have a hairy mole growth or a pom-pom on your shirt :) , hope hollyland creates ANC setting profiles and give users the control over how much ANC to be added. DJI i found kind of muddy on mids. But Lark is a great value for money and most discreet . Thanks for your videos hope you make more money and more videos :) cheers , subscribed (long ago)

During the mic comparison section, the differences in quality is stunning considering the price. I find both hollyland mics to be much clearer in the mids and the sound staging/imaging is much more wide, as compared to the dji mic 2 which sounds way more linear/frontal/condensed, like you're being spoken to through a cone. The Rode is does this same condensed sound but to a much clearer quality.

I'd like to give you a small suggestion on a type of test I never see any creators do, but I'm sure the question gets pontificated. How does the noise cancelation differ between high noise environments and low? You pointed out a common flaw in noise reducers, they sometimes clip portions the voice from the audio, giving it that weird sound. Almost always, this is demonstrated at an loud intersection or in a somewhat quiet field, but hardly ever is it demonstrated and compared in both scenarios. The reason I suggest this, is that in a low noise environment(computers, fans, a/c, etc), which is probably a common place a creator would use the mics, there would have less noise to remove and would probably result in less clipping of the voice. As a content creator myself, I'd love for someone to start showing these comparisons as part of their review, as it would help me to audibly hear the difference, side by side per se. Regardless, great video and as always, I will be using your affiliate link to make my purchase! Take care!
@MarkBennettCameraCrisis5 ай бұрын
Yes - the voice less weird in quieter environments because the mic doesn’t have to cancel out the noise. But it still doesn’t sound great - but it’s something that might be beneficial to demonstrate. I will try to include it!!

Luckily I discovered the issue and swapped out the transmitter. Everything has been working since then. I have used the receiver that messed up and it seems to be OK. But this is how the other one started. I had small issues and they just got worse and worse to where they won't even connect anymore. I use them for hiking so I leave them on for the max battery life. I wonder if I am frying them out somehow I don't know. But when they work they are mindblowing.
