not so much about it being hard but rather how the possibilities led to this. I remember when games were a mess to create, and took years to finish, even when they were quite simple. now people can just pop out an interactive, smart, and chunky pastime in a few hours.

You mean the Ginso tree with Bash?
@nikitas18416 жыл бұрын
Gregory Hermie Petrola, exactly. It's not like Typing of the Dead. It's more about thinking than about typing. There was actually a game that better elaborated on that concept. Can't remember its name, but in that game you had to control multiple drones exploring abandoned spaceships. You had multiple functions for each drone (customizable) and you were also controlling the ship's doors. That one was hella fun actually.

Heh. There's an Amiga game called Sleepwalker that features almost the exact same premise as this one, except there's still platforming done by the player. You control a dog trying to get a permanently sleepwalking kid safely through levels, blocking him from walking into enemies, kicking him across gaps and manipulating the environment to make a safe path.
@HomeofLawboy6 жыл бұрын
I KNEW I had seen that game somewhere. Not in the amiga tho, probably in one of those emulators for old games.

My Allocation Playthrough lasted 63:49 time, because I tried to make the Game as hard as possible with the goal of increasing the feeling of Reward (which actually worked). Especially at The End, where I ended up using ALL the Rooms to create as much of a Maze as I could (which isn't very much) by placing worthless Rooms which would just waste my health if I went through them to realize there's a Roadblock at the End because it's the Wrong Way. I also prioritized placing The Hardest Rooms possible, so I spent a bit of time finding Rooms I could replace with Harder Rooms. In the last round, I was forced to use 4 Easy Rooms on the Critical path, which wasn't very great. I used 1 Healing Room, but not on the Last Round (I did still place it, but I didn't went to it in the Last Round. I can't understand why that Hardest round was the Only round where I didn't take any damage.). I'd definitely play Allocation again, if there was a Mode which replaces all Easy and Medium Rooms with Hard Rooms.
