Nice trip through history. Thanks for the posting. I can still remember playing in my grandparents front yard in Tehachapi (Curry and F st) and watching and listening to the steam engines coming up the hill from Bakersfield. Then the raucous air horns from the new "streamliners"...ugh! Waiting for part II.

I'm really enjoying these; thanks for doing them! BTW, my father (once an actor) portrayed Edward Beale in two episodes of Death Valley Days back in 1957. So I was especially interested to hear about Bealeville.

Mark, thanks for the history lesson along the old SP line. I've done some research on some of the station locations along the SP and WP lines here in northern California. Also have explored some of the logging railroad locations in the Sierra Nevada mountains. Keep up the good work.

Still new in the hobby wished one day we could get together you can show me nice spots along the Telahachapi loop or area to take pictures or videos of trains. I know it sounds simple though not to a newbie from Northern California. Hoping one day too when I have time while in Trona to venture out & take the time to do this.

@@MarkClayMcGowan Thanks for the offer. Due to the pandemic & shelter in place order right now makes it a bit prohibitive. Thinking about October as there is an APTA Convention scheduled in Anaheim. Though with what's currently going on now who knows!? I already had to cancel 2 other trips already. Maybe February next year perhaps. Not certain how the weather be like though! LOL! @ least cooler then the norm for sure!
