Dallas has always stated that this is television and not the bible. He has said that what is shown is not complete biblical facts but plausible conversations that could have been said. People who have read the Word know the difference. I love the Chosen because it brings that era to life. It makes the bible come to life.
@DelMcAlpine8 күн бұрын
Mr. Jenkins has gone from using the word “plausible” to describe the Chosen - to now claiming they are bringing you the “authentic” Jesus. The real Jesus. He also is now claiming although not factual - the Chosen is Biblically Truthful - and even adds - with a capital “T”. Fact and truth - same - meaning of truth - “ that which is true or in accordance with fact or reality”. So the writer who originally claimed that 95% of his TV show is storytelling (fiction) - now claims that it is truthful, authentic, real,……Why? Because he knows he can. And people want to believe that 95% of the “fill-ins” and dialogue the writers create - actually happened.

The point here is that the Chosen is a film series, it’s meant to have some extra content in order to make full scenes, but yet remain biblically true with the message it’s delivering. Here’s the thing mark. (Love you and your preaching by the way) People coming to the show by and large are aware that when you watch a tv show, liberties are taken and things are added. There is even a disclaimer at the beginning of the show encouraging people to go read the gospels for themselves and that things have been added. The creator has released several videos explaining that this is NOT meant to be a replacement or strict reenactment of scripture. This is meant to be a high production tv show about the events surrounding Jesus and his disciples. Stopping the video every thirty seconds to point out “that’s not in the Bible” “that’s not scripture” “he didn’t say that” is kind of missing the point. We all know it didn’t happen exactly that way. We know he didn’t say that in that exact spot. The point is - has the creator accomplished what he set out to do? Judging the show as a strict biblical reenactment is like me judging your sermons as a strict reciting of scripture. That’s not what you set out to do. You are commentating and speaking on the text in the way the Lord leads you to. You use illustrations and jokes to communicate your main point. You direct people back to the source material. Thats exactly what the chosen is doing. If you changed your metric for how you score this show based on that, I think you would 1) enjoy it a lot more for what it is and 2) score it much higher. God bless and keep preaching the word! Your ministry has blessed me and my wife!

It doesn't matter if Driscoll is rating in this video ''Driscoll is just doing a show/it's showtime for the pastor to make money'' because we know WITH ALL SOLID CONCRETE CERTAINTY the bible is for certain not true and know with all certainty god and jesus did not know what they were talking about, as will be shown and proven in the video I am including in this.'' I was an Independent Fundamental Baptist Pastor ''KJV only'' for 11 years ''and in an Independent Fundamental Baptist KJV only church all my life before going to a Baptist College to become a Pastor'' and realized for solid fact that not just the KJV but all Bibles had endless contradictions ''yes fact they all do'', were scientifically and factually wrong with things we know to be facts scientifically, and realized for solid fact that God was pure evil and that nothing works in the Bible ''like prayer or Gods promises'' and that God is the cause of all evil and a liar. I am now free and free of evil, lies, slav*ry, the worst of damaging in every way teaching ''the Bible, God, etc''. And this was the final video after knowing for fact everything I just said that broke the camels back and set me free. The Lord Who Lies here on KZbin ON AronRa channel and there is no disputing it whatsoever! And any of what I just said because all of it is solid fact! And btw, the bible is very clear there are to be no pastors, pastors know this very well but do it anyway because all they have to do is show up about 3 hours a week and read words out of a book to make big bank with tithes ''a book you can read yourself''. And ''pastors'' know very well there is not to be any tithes, that was Levitical law and only for the Levites and god made it clear when they were gone it was to end and be no more ever again, and it was very clear it was only to be 10% of the first fruits of a persons grain, fruits, vegetables, etc, to be brought into the storehouses for grain, fruits, vegetables, etc, and that there was never under any circumstances for money to be given ''jesus even made that clear much later also when he was with his disciples and told them to go into all the world and preach the gospel and told them to take no money and absolutely nothing for doing so'' yes so called ''pastors'' know all of this very well but are eager to take your money so they can buy new nice vehicles, have their homes paid for, have and eat the best food in their homes ''and eat out at the best places all the time too'' take lavish expensive trips, buy boats, motorcycles, side by side atvs, jewelry, have their bills and insurance paid, etc, and you're just showing up for showtime and the show with the con men handing a large sum of your money over to hear a man read the exact same words you can read yourself, they are con men and know exactly what they are doing ''and yes I can provide a video if you ask and want it showing for fact that everything I said is EXACTLY what the bible says''. And if a single mom working hard to take care of her kids shows up to the pastors office needing help, even 20 dollars for gas for the week to get her back and forth to work because after she paid all the bills she didn't have it, lord have mercy she won't be given a single cent because it takes away from the ''pastors'' money for all the previously mentioned things they spend your money on! I also strongly suggest you go here on KZbin and type in Will you be left behind ''it's on AronRa channel too' and you will see how ''pastors/churches/the high ups in churches/church boards'' are severely twisting things they know isn't so for the only soul purpose to get money.

@ what is the big difference between the chosen and the passion? Bottom line is the chosen is getting people who are not believers interested in the story of Jesus and it’s brining some people closer to God which I’m sure God wants. If you want to say that the chosen is bad because they add some creative context to the overall story then you could say the same thing about most messages pastors give in church, most pastors mentions a few Bible verses and then talk for 40 minutes using language not in the Bible, so is that wrong or is that ok?

And like sermons, you need to use your own critical thinking skills to pay attention and not accept what you are told without holding it up to see if it lines up with Scripture.

There's no way any of us can fully know(yet anyway) how that whole conversation went. But as short as the Bible is on that conversation, it's not that much of a step to think that the Bible focuses on the important parts and nothing else. What little I've watched of The Chosen has shown what could've been the more personal characteristics of Jesus's day-to-day - we obviously can't prove it, but we can't exactly call it heretical either. In their depiction of the lame man at the pool of Bethesda, this more intimate personal portrayal actually drives more deeply the power and love that Christ has for us - not gonna lie, I ugly cried the first time I saw it.

It sounds like you are completely misunderstanding The Chosen as a medium. The creators of The Chosen state clearly and often that it is not a word for word depiction of the Gospel, they are telling stories that they believe are plausible and authentic to overall message of the Bible in a television series. Most of the content is not actually in the Bible, as they are creating backstories and scenarios that are "behind the scenes", to tell a TV show style narrative. They specifically say that these scenes are extra content and are NOT word for word Biblical, but (again), plausible and true to the overall message. They are not doing exact reenactments of text only versions of Gospel stories. They tell you to go back and read the Gospel, this is not to replace it, only supplement it. Re: Nicodemus, we know Nicodemus later publicly supported Christ by asking Pilot for the body and paying for the spices, given that Jesus was condemned by the Sanhedrin (of which he was a part), this was a very bold move, we also know that Nicodemus believed Jesus was from God (John 3:20), so this scene is very plausible and holds true to the overall message of salvation. At this point in Jesus mission the Kingdom of God was not earthly as the Jews and religious leaders of the time were expecting, so for Jesus to clarify this also makes sense. Do we know exactly what was said at this meeting beyond the direct quotes from John? No, obviously not. John stated that Jesus did and said so many things that were not recorded, that is what the creators of the show are trying to create in order to bring the Gospel to life. I believe they have done this very successfully in a way that no other show or movie has done previously. God bless them for that!

NOT. Dallas addressed this in a special You Tube video and never said they were the same and I've done plenty of research as if this was true, it would have been a big mistake. This is not a replacement for the Bible & it has done a wonderful job of drawing millions of people to the Lord and closer to the Lord.
@nsnowman7 күн бұрын
Yeah, he actually didn't say that and did 2 or 3 follow-up interviews on this topic to further clarify that he believes there are some individual Mormons that he is friends with who have accepted the real Christ. Unlike Mormons, Dallas is 100% on board with Jesus's divinity, and all the other core tenets of orthodox Christianity. He partnered with Angel Studios for the first 2 Seasons, who were founded by Mormons but had no input into the content of the show. The Chosen has since split with Angel Studios and is backed by the Christian non-profit organization called Come and See Foundation and have formed 5&2 Studios to make even more Christian content.

(Matthew 14:23, Mark 6:46, John 6:15) The Chosen has "jesus" invite Shmuel to pray with him (Season 3, episode 8, 1:02:11 in) -Biblically, the blind man in John 9 is healed by his faith in Jesus Christ, going to the pool of Siloam. (John 9:7) The Chosen has "big james" bring a bucket of water to assist in the healing of the blind man. The Chosen also cuts out very important verses towards the end of John 9, including the blind man worshiping "jesus." (Season 4, episode 3) -Biblically, Simon Peter and Andrew live in the same home. (Mark 1:29) The Chosen has them living in separate places. (Season 3, episode 1, 32:21 in) -Biblically, when the paralytic is healed, only men transporting him are mentioned. Jesus said when He "saw their faith," then He healed him. (Luke 5: 18-25) The Chosen has "mary magdalene" help another woman get these men and the paralytic to "jesus." The women's faith is then commended. (Season 1, episode 6, 38:35 in) -Biblically, when Jesus calls Matthew to follow Him, Matthew is sitting. He then stands up to follow Jesus. (Matthew 9: 9-13) The Chosen has "matthew" standing during this. (Season 1, episode 7, 33:01 in) -Biblically, Simon Peter besought Jesus to heal his mother in law. (Luke 4: 38-40, Mark 1: 29-34) The Chosen has them not ask "jesus" for help. In fact, "andrew" suggests getting a doctor. (Season 1, episode 8, 27:43 in)

The Chosen never claimed to be strictly word for word from scripture. It is meant to make people want to dig into their Bible…and technology from Bible Apps indicate it is successful. I bet you had a blast with Season 4 / Episode 3. The Chosen is drawing thousands into relationship with Jesus and more than that into a deeper abiding.

Ok, but what about uza? You no the guy who reached out to steady the arc, and was struck down for it? Is there nothing sacred? Is there nothing you should not be taking artistic creativity with? To add nothing to or take away from? Shouldn't it he thd word? There are somethings you touch at your own peril, regardless of your intentions. Those things we generally think of as sacred. The fear of the Lord is the beggining of wisdom. You should not feel free to change the word. GOD wrote it the way he wanted it, he left out things and put in others. The whole focus is on Jesus, but this is focused on the people around him. Making up timelines, connecting people that were not connected. Its game of thrones, with a little bible thrown in.

The Chosen is not the Bible, and it's not intended to add to or change the Bible. It's fictional speculation based on the Bible, which is exactly what Pastor Mark does every Sunday and in all of his books. Every Bible teacher does because they have to. If it doesn't directly contradict the Bible, you have no complaints. It's the only Bible media trying to portray Jesus and the disciples accurately and people jump on it like they've made Peter queer because it isn't a word for word representation of the Bible. When Pastor Mark preaches by ONLY reading the Bible and saying NOTHING else, you can criticize the Chosen.

Dallas, at the start of the Chosen, states that the chosen is not the bible and to read the bible... then what is it? Think of it like a sermon... a sermon is where men (by authority) take Gods words, doctrines, and themes and put them in their own words in order to change the hearts of men.

It is amazing how the immortal true Sons of God, the twice born, have already returned, to take over Creation as soon as the 6000 year lease to the mortal and perishable advanced apes ends at the end of December. 😮 The skies are completely filled with spaceships, they are already in all countries and continents, their landing on earth is also imminent.😳😲We don't know what they would have planned to do with the once born Christians.

But there is evidence that Nicodemus became a believer- he defended Jesus at His trials and helped prepare His body for burial. The writers of the Chosen have never pretended that the show wasn't more of a commentary than a strict reenactment of only what is recorded in the Bible. Obviously there are going to be significant creative liberties taken.

Sounds like he's saying here that you need to be baptized with water in order to be saved, and that's not true. True baptism is by the Holy Spirit, it is He who cleanses us. Jesus asks us to be baptized and we do out of obedience and as a symbol of our commitment to Him, but water baptism is not necessary for salvation. Jesus paid that price.

I don’t understand why you people try so hard to break down a show that is literally touching hundreds of millions of people and have led many many people to actually start reading the Bible that never would have before. The creators of this show have flat out said this is a dramatized depiction of the life of Christ, that is not 100% biblical. So why do you people continue to try to break down a show, that is turning people to Christ? Absolutely infuriates me but I guess I shouldn’t be surprised by all you holier than thou “Christians”.

CHRIST is past present future tenths the sap in the tree 🌳 of life going up and down the bible like a flamming 🔥 fire and burning torch going up and down Jacob ladder past present future tenths. I love how all these pastors and hardcore Bible thumpers want to go out and make videos telling about how the Chosen is not Biblically accurate this is the 3rd video I've seen on this in 2 days. when the creator clearly tells people that this series is not a Biblical Reenactment of the Bible and they want to judge and rate the Chosen because it doesn't line up 100 percent If you tried to make a good series based on only what the Bible said it would have huge gaps between events and very short dialogue you literally have to ask the Holy Spirit to give insight when you read because of all the parables and what is the exact meaning I honestly don't think we will ever agree completely on the meanings of everything in the Bible at least until we get to heaven. It just frustrates me to see these people up on there throne of judgment because they have all this Biblical knowledge, but thats just my opinion.

The creators never claimed they were making a series on the Bible but inspired by the Bible and the characters and how their lives could have played out. Seems strange that you’re reviewing it through a lens it was never intended for. Millions of people have been inspired to read their Bibles and find Jesus because of the series. This is a very religious review and maybe you’ve missed the point of the show.

After watching this scene, it is all flows with the main idea of what is actually in the Bible. It's not meant to teach but to open people to a larger view. Every past Biblical movie or TV show is the exact same thing (with the exception of The Visual Bible: Matthew). Take it for what it is. A really good TV show. If it inspires others to seek God and to read the Bible then that's totally AWESOME and THAT should be supported. Don't trash it. Giving it a 3/10 is trashing it.

The reality of the kingdom of heaven is The Holy Spirit and being born again makes us part of the kingdom of which Jesus is the first Man to have this Spirit as His life’s power and it was given to Him at conception in the womb (His fathers contribution to His being) and also why He is the baptizer of the Holy Spirit it’s His part in our birth and why the man the son offered is called our everlasting father in Isaiah 9:6 and the counselor and the son (father son Holy Spirit) in the great commission given to the Apostles which they passed this on to us in the relay through their teachings in which the foundation of the kingdom is laid (hence no other gospel is excepted except which they taught and as shown in acts of the apostles, ) the Kingdom is the Spirit of truth,and the peoples He fills through His finished works on the Cross through Jesus Christ His image,His temple ,His body offered,now we are that body by the infilling of His spirit which only talks in line with the Apostles doctrine as it’s written, one witness of one savior.

Jesus was wrapped in swaddling clothes the same type of clothes lambs are wrapped in preserved for sacrifice as well as being laid in a manger Women did not study the scriptures like men did Even though they lived under Roman rule the Jews lived separately from the Romans Not all Romans are inherently evil (Guais) Jesus' relationship with Mary Jesus with the children Celebration of Purim Celebration of Passover Giving gifts Mary spilling the perfume and letting down her hair The folded cloth in the grave (the master is coming back) John the Baptist and his life beginning from when his mother was carrying him (he leapt for joy) I think there are many things the chosen does right but it isn’t perfect. I think watching the chosen while going a gospel study would be a good excercise in how media/ art portrays and illustrates the biblical text.

The Chosen is inaccurate. It is NOT to be used for biblical understanding. It is a TV show. You must have a personal relationship with Jesus-the real Jesus, not a demon god, not a fake jesus conjured up by the enemy. Satan knows Scripture too and he comes looking as much like God as he can. You need the Holy Spirit's discernment, which you don't have if you think The Chosen is biblically accurate. It is the Holy Spirit who interprets the Bible for you, only He can. Get study Bibles, read commentaries, but check your sources. Go to church, ask questions. And always take everything to God-He is the Authority.

Ok so did he actually watch it? Or just cut scenes and secondary opinions already spread around the internet? Wicked the title is named such because a talented witch has her good name smeared. It’s the label placed a upon her. If the measure we are using is now is magic and fairy tales are evil, then just about every Disney movie is evil. Oz is evil. Narnia is evil. I’m sorry I’m not going to jump on that train. If people don’t have the discernment to understand underlying truths and threaded throughout make believe stories then we really are not wise as serpents but innocent as doves. If I had a young granddaughter I wouldn’t take her to see this either but if I had a teen. I’d discuss the movies with them but I’d probably take them to see it. This is the kind of thing that has Christian choirs singing Madonna’s Like a Prayer and not understanding the problem.

I can't watch the Chosen, for me, giving commentary on the Disciples is one thing, but putting words in Jesus mouth that he never said is something I can't take, God put the words He wanted Jesus to say to us in the Bible and then we are warned in Revelation 22:18-19 [18] I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book, [19] and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book. The show lost me in Season 1 with the conversation between Jesus and John the Baptist.
