An example of running 2 different refresh rates can be found with KZbin. The video can be playing at 60fps and the comment section can run at 1. It's very smart and an example of innovation in Android phones that never gets enough praise. That mixed with the battery and chip improvements Android is bringing.

I just discovered your channel while rooting around KZbin looking for absolution on my recent purchase of the OnePlus 13. My last OnePlus phone was the 7 Pro. I was amazed by the popup camera it had. I've since moved over to the IPhone for several generations to the 15 Pro Max. I didn't see getting the 16 and figured I'd wait. Then this dropped. The next thing I know, it's in my cart. It FORCED me to enter my credit card number. Now, I'm waiting for it to arrive. Long story huh? lol. I'm subbing your channel mainly because I have daily uses for the phone like authentication, some Facebook Threads and Bluesky, a few time-wasting games and snapping a photo here and there. (I just noticed I left off phone calls) That's it. I don't have a need to split atoms with my phone and you sound like you don't either. Loved the review. Thanks for the drop

Got the OP 12 16/512GB about 10 months ago and it is solid, OxygenOS 15 made it even better! Really happy unlike I was really frustrated with my previous OP 10 Pro. The 13 is not much of an upgrade, especially when it comes to camera modules, and if you willing to shell out USD900/+,, then go for 13, otherwise 12 is solid and will save you few USD100s. I shall wait for next iteration of OP and hope Elite 2 will bring strong features and performance compared to * Gen 3 and much better camera modules.

I mean, yeah it’s not worth upgrading every year, but the 13 is definitely a better phone than the 12 the flat screen, the processor which I believe is 30 or 40% faster which is pretty amazing actually, depending on where you live having a phone that has 68/69 water and dust resistance is a big deal, couple of reviews I’ve watched that the speakers were better, I read an article from Oneplus that said they balanced out the 13 and it won’t be like the 12 which istop-heavy and kind of off-balance. I mean I’m no phone expert, but the 13 is definitely the better out of the two phones but I mean that’s expected. It’s the newer phone so enjoy your 12 yeah of course next year’s phone will be better that goes without saying that’s almost saying like the water is wet.

I really like the way you present. If you can hang onto that for as long as possible before having to comply with the algorithms youtube will eventually force on you, I'd like to hang around and watch some more stuff. This phone is a geniuinely compelling altermative to the S25 Ultra which doesn't make use of the Carbon Silcone Battery enhancements and increased battery size that allows at reduced weight. I'd miss my Pen, but I barely use it any more and its one of the main reasons I've stuck with Samsung so long. I don't care about the camera, anything will be more than enough, I just wish they would make phones sit flat on a desk again!

I have the Oppo Find X8 Pro (global) what is different from this OnePlus 13 (global)? So far I know there is one less camera on 13, missing camera button on 13, had more bands (great for US users) on 13, and changed from MediaTek to SnapDragon and a few less "bloatware" preinstalled apps on 13 and the price difference. Anything else? Seems Color OS and Oxygen OS are almost identical now in the most recent version.

Happy new year. I know you try to change the way to product review but i know there will be a time, you will talk about iPhone and Apple ecosystem. It would be nice to include a shot of the Android you are reviewing with a Windows 💻 , doing QuickShare and connecting earphones with Bluetooth multipoint. I think it's important to make people ( newbies) see it works. I prefer the back design of OnePlus Open. The hardware of OnePlus 13 is on top. The software...🤔. I've never been hyped by OnePlus but no doubt, it seems like a very good phone. Black version, White version are the only one to buy.

Have two phones. An iPhone 16 pro as well as S24 ultra. I upgrade one each year and save the other for the following cycle. This year I am doing something different. I am parting ways with the iPhone and purchasing the OnePlus 13. IOS has taken a huge hit and I believe could be on the way to slow blackberry type death. OnePlus really impressed me this year and looking forward to going straight android for my mobile choice. Although keeping my MBA and iPad mini. Can't leave good ol apple completely haha. Great review as always!

In my opinion, the screen is flat. Although, there is a minor curved bezel that tapers into the flat sides. Still, that minor curved bezel isn't part of the touch screen. Thus, it doesn't cause screen distortions, Miss touches, Miss swipes or problems with gestures. Moreover, OnePlus finally delivered a more modern utilitarian squared design without making it look like an iPhone clone. That's been my biggest pet peeve with the latest Google and Samsung phones. On another note, the developers of oxygen OS 15 gave the platform a major overhaul and downsized it by a little over 30%. They paired away many redundancies and unnecessary features. Therefore, it doesn't take up as much hard drive space and it's less ram intensive. Oxygen OS has always been smooth as silk but, now it's faster than ever.

Hi Mark - Here's what I hope you cover in future phone reviews because it is one of the things I absolutely look for when making a purchase and decision: *A built-in RAM management system.* No matter how good the phone is, cache builds up and slows the phone down. Samsung has Device Care and Good Guardian, plus it allows the user to schedule an automatic reboot schedule once a week. On phones without this, I find myself resorting to SD Maid, and I'd prefer pre-installed options from the manufacturer.

Unfortunately, oneplus lost me after the 7T. I just want a phone such as the 13 but with a battery of at least 6000mah and not 5840mah marketed as 6000. Also, the camera bump should be centered like the vivo x200 pro, not like it is now. Yes there are still people who yearn for simmetry. Lastly, I would happily burn 800 to 850 euros for it but no more. The starting price of 999 euros is considered a theft in my book since I can purchase right now the Chinese variant for 667 euros, new. And don't get me started on the lost frames during video recording... Oh well, I hope I am not the only one looking at it this way!

With software (Oxygen OS) that's rebranded Color OS, the same as Realme and Oppo, there's nothing to brag about this phone. Average software experience, average cameras, poor productivity (Oneplus notes app doesn't sync across it's phones and tabs). Design is typical Oppo with that camera bump that's typical of Oppo phones and is an eye sore. Average phone at its best.
