if you wanna by some memorable souvenirs Colombo Odell and Laksala will be better places specially laksala always have traditional sri lankan items which were made by locals . both of them are quite pricey but super in quality sarong would be the best thing to sleep in .its really comfortable and healthy but the material you bought seems a bit heavy will be better after some washing . sarrongs made from bathik material is the best . its a traditional material and is very vivid , comfortable and light . bathik sarongs usually comes with traditional patterns ,sun ,moon or elephants and priced around 3000Rs cus the whole process is done by hand .weaving to dyeing and can go up to 6000Rs quality wise sarong is traditional Sinhalease wear cus it suits the climate well later Sri Lankan Muslims got used to it but they usually wear chequered or plane with colors light blue and white. and Tamils wear similar kind of cloth called wetti which is usually white and have thin gold borders but its kind of complicate to wear hope you enjoy your sarrong 'SUDDHA' ! ( SUDDHA - informal way of calling 'white man 'in Sinhala , SUDDHEK - A white man , SUDDHI - White woman, SUDDHIYEK - A white woman)

Mac Machan, If you are still around Colombo, get a train and come to Ragama(Ragama Junction), There is an amazing church and its property you must see. Nice cool place. Church name is Thewatta National Basilica. Its 8th train station from Colombo railway station. will take around 20 minutes to travel. Not many tourists know about that place. take ali with you as well, You guys can be the first. Do not waste your days just in Colombo city, the suburbs have much to see as well

T shirts in the pettah market are cheap quality. Do check out a proper shop like in a shopping centre or mall. You could get a good quality SL tee for about Rs 2000.00

It is hard to judge the price of a tee shirt which has a design on it and just a plain one ,the price of a tee shirt designed for the tourist market as a souvenir , the price can depend on how many of the same design were manufactured . If the tee shirt was a plain white cotton tee shirt , 1000 rupees would be more than enough to pay. Some sellers of new clothing have only small markups while others have large markups and are willing to reduce the price but it should also be noted that for any business to stay viable , it is not possible to sell items under their cost price because often only a small margin of the price is their profit margin so at this stage , I am undecided if the price was fair or overpriced , the only way to get a more realistic guide to the price of that tee shirt would be to compare it with identical designed tee shirts selling elsewhere . My guess would be under 1500 rupees would be a good price of a souvenir tee shirt in Sri Lanka and under 1000 rupees would be a good price for a plain coloured cotton tee shirt in Sri Lanka .

Anyone can find anything they want for any prize here if you know exactly where to look.. 😉 But have to be careful of some people whom are trying to sell unwanted things for unfair prizes. @World Nomac. That was quite a ripoff to charge 450 from Colombo 3 to Pettah. It would cost only about 250 on a Tuk Tuk or just 100 for the both of you by bus. Download PickMe or Uber apps to hire a Tuk Tuk in Colombo or in Major cities. Or try getting a "Metered Taxi" at least.
