You are spot on about not having the same inventory as everyone else. Nothing worse than setting up at a market and having price being the only difference between you and another artist 😬 I have been making whatever makes me happy for a while now and have stayed away from things that are crazy popular for the most part. For the first time in a while I had an overlapping product with another artist and someone actually came back to my booth after they left to check my price against the other booth. That's such a weird feeling. I kind of felt bad when I got the sale over the other booth. I also bought that bamboo stand and I don't think it's great for markets. It's not very sturdy.

Thank you for the support!!! Every market is different. I choose to sign up for easier markets right now since I’m just starting out selling. * as long as I pay the fee and follow their guidelines, I can show up with only providing them my business name and what I sell. To find these markets. Honestly, I go on Facebook events and look through all of the vendor requirements to see if it’ll be a good fit for me or not .Other markets require every vendor to pay for insurance which can cost up to $300 a year. Those insurance required markets also have a jury. Typically the jury is where you have to submit multiple photos of your products and specific display setups, write a paragraph about what you’re selling, pay them the fee and they get to choose if they want you there or not. I haven’t gone through the jury process yet, but at least that’s how it’s been looking in South Florida when I go to apply for markets . The good thing about being at a jury show is they typically will make sure there is not an abundance of each craft, the downside is, they’re pretty picky about your display looks like. When people buy plushies, I have a thank you card, a business card and clear bags from Amazon that I give everybody. I have small, medium and large clear bags, and when they walk around the market, other people can see what’s in their bag which can help promote sales as well🙏🏼 The bags are in the link in the description of the video now 😊😊 and good luck if you start selling I hope you do well!!

welcome to the wonderfull world of markets. highly addictive and unpredictable! never know what sells. at my christmas markets my handmade leather ornaments didnt sell but my star wars ornaments flew of the table. will focus on the nerds next year. you will learn with experience but it is always a roller coaster. some things you will drop because people will not pay for the time it takes. Dont work for free!
