​@@payalwalke3843 suppose you think that price of a particular stock will go down....you tell your broker that give me some stocks of this company as a loan/debt....I will return it to you by the evening....broker gives you the stocks without asking for money....now you sell that stock suppose at the price of 1000₹....now when the price goes down suppose 900₹....you buy that stock....return it to the broker....still left with 100₹ in your account

Suppose you have a capital of Rs. 100 and you want to buy Xyz stock whose current price is Rs. 100. If you place an order to buy 1 stock, you are not using any leverage and instead you decide to buy 5 of them, you are taking leverage. You can buy between 1 to 5 quantities as far as intraday is concerned.

I have 2 queries: 1. If we plan to do short selling then is it possible/necessary to set a stop-loss at the start ? If yes, then would the stocks be bought at the stop-loss price automatically ? 2. What if we incur a loss that is more than the capital due to the leverage and not setting stop-loss ? How will the broker recover the lost money from us ?

In the case of long term investment the broker not allow us to do the short selling. Ok that’s fine. So what will be minimum time gap between buying and selling a stock in the case of long term investment? Is that at least 1 day time period or less then 1 day. Could you please specify the minimum time gap in the case of long term investment.

One doubt as explained if one has not put the stop loss & the stock dropped to 500/- from 1000/- then the actual loss in the trade would be 2500/-, but as I started with 1000/- capital only, who is going to pay 1500/- extra loss amount? Is the broker paying it?
