Good stuff bro! I would also look in to making KZbin and instagram reels with informational content on breeding, genetics, and taking care of many animals as a breeder!

Maybe! We already give this info with the podcast, but maybe we can clip stuff into reels. I've tried before but it took more work than I was willing to do to make it look good. We'll see!

Hi Harry! Why does no one talk about biosecurity around Crested collabs? I know they are a pretty healthy species in general, but given that crypto does exist, why don't we talk about it more often? Just curious. Thanks for doing this vlog!

Hey Emma! Yeah it’s true we don’t talk much about it. We mention quarantining but not much else. I haven’t heard of any crestie breeders getting crypto though. Have you? But I’m all for keeping our animals and collections safe. What are other measures you think would be good to prevent diseases amongst our collabs / collections? I’m learning as we go!

@zeros.geckos thanks for the honest, calm response, Harry! While I have not heard of any Crested geckos getting crypto, how many people do you know with pet leopard geckos or small side quests with them? Do we know for sure that new cal species don't get it? What about carry it? I just think when we talk about collaboration, sharing possible diseases must be part of the convo. As far as other things we can do, I think testing IS available, so we could use it if we wanted to! I have not tested my geckos yet, but I think I'm going to!

@@thereptilorian The cresteds get worms from the crickets, but theyve proven to be overall harmless towards the geckos. However, some breeders do an annual cleanse of the worms in their collection with panacur. But other than that, I haven't heard of cresteds getting infected with other stuff. I'm not saying it doesn't exist. It's just not as common. BUT I absolutely agree with you that we can always be more safe and take better precautions when it comes to keeping our geckos healthy.. no doubt!

@zeros.geckos right, not worried about the parasites at all, because a gecko with a healthy gut will manage them. I just can't help but wonder if, because they're so healthy, we assume they're not carrying anything, but in reality your whole collection could be positive for cryptosporidium without you even knowing it, and there are lots of people out there who keep multiple species, some of which may be more sensitive to crypto. Wouldn't you feel bad if your perfectly healthy crestie infected your friend's whole Leo project by accident? Google cryptosporidium, it's brutal

I interviewed a crested gecko breeder that was sold a crypto positive adult at Tinley. It's definitely can infect crested geckos. @@zeros.geckos

Thanks Tyler! I'm not super against the spammy hustle, but I think it would help for people to at least consider different ways to sell! I'd say start with vending shows! Even morph market links is fine.
