So glad I found this song at a young age cause as you get older the more meaningful this song becomes.

The ending is my favorite part of the song because after going through the chorus again the guitar is still soft but as he sings it one last time the guitar becomes stronger and it sounds like a bass. Rest in peace Youth Lagoon.

Roaming the campground up by the lake where we swam We were hunting for snakes But we couldn't find them Surrounded by nothing But the nothing's surrounded by us But it's just me in my room With my eyes shut Oh, when I was seventeen My mother said to me "Don't stop imagining, the day that you do is the day that you die" Now I pull a one-ton carriage Instead of the horses grazing the lawn And I was having fun We were all having fun My brain can think faster than I can I'm not fast enough Who is there to talk to That won't lock me up? At least God doesn't judge me by the thoughts that aren't mine The snakes I couldn't find I don't want to find Oh oh oh Oh when I was seventeen my mother said to me "Don't stop imagining, the day that you do is the day that you die" Now I pull a one-ton carriage Instead of the horses grazing the lawn And I was having fun We were all having fun Oh, when I was seventeen My mother said to me "Don't stop imagining, the day that you do is the day that you die" Now I pull a one-ton carriage Instead of the horses grazing the lawn And I was having fun We were all having fun

A lot of it was just different effects. And besides, performer's voices do sound different outside of the studio.

Studio version? He recorded the whole album in his bedroom.
@thelefthandofhorror126010 жыл бұрын
nigga u high? Do you even know what auto-tune is? In an interview he said that he recorded the songs raw, played them in a garage and recorded it from all the re-verb. No auto-tune.
@henrikhjalmarsson169810 жыл бұрын
He "re-recorded" the vocals dry in an empty garage
